Yankees just may set the team record for Ks this year. For me, all that matters are wins and losses. The Yankees won Judge's 5 strikeout game in the afternoon so no big deal but they could have used some hits from him to win the nightcap.
Of course it's too early in his career to judge Judge, but he is still having a very nice season.
If i recall correctly, players such as Ruth and Mantle struck out a lot, and even though I don't know much about those two players, or where or when they played, may have been sometime last century, I know their baseball cards sell for some pretty good money.

Most Ruth ever struck out in a season was 93 times. To put that in perspective, Judge is just 10 away from that. THIS YEAR. After 57 games.

Power hitters usually do strike out a lot. I'm sure you know that.
A few such as Ted Williams and Joe DiMaggio were exceptions.
Power hitters are also normally streak hitters. The home runs, and also unfortunately the strikeouts usually come in bunches. Of course if the strikeouts begin outweighing production, then the player is sent down or released.
Only someone quite ignorant about MLB would believe at this point that the Yankees have even considered sending down or releasing Aaron Judge.
well, with just a small sampling of stats the enigma we know as Aaron Judge remains steady.
I had assumed he would benefit from a season's experience and the addition of Stanton but the early stats show the same as last season. it is early, he is young, smart and very talented so I expect that change to happen, probably once the weather warms up. what confuses me most about the Bombers is what confused me last year, their batting order. why is Judge in the no. 2 hole and Gregorius at clean-up?? what I see as more logical is:
Gardner
Gregorius
Judge
Stanton
Sanchez
to me, that is a scary top five that would be hard to get past three times in a game and leave a pitcher nobody to pitch around. Gardner and DD set the table and then Stanton cleans-up whatever Judge leaves for him.
but, hey, what do I know, right??
--- I don't recall when I entered what is above, this new software apparently saves an entry if we leave. I must have gotten interrupted mid-post and never returned. with that said and now that I'm in the thread again I will repeat what I posted in the Stanton thread below, that to accept all the K's from Judge and Stanton would be unsustainable for most Teams, but the Yankees are playing almost .600 ball so it doesn't matter.........................yet.
it is worth noting a few things that should at least concern everyone and be a cause for notice. for plate appearances, if we calculated as a BA both players would be over .300!!! when I looked at it last week, Stanton had an OBP of .342 and a K rate of .321 with both players now close to 90 k's each.
contrast that to Jose Ramirez who has more HR's/RBI's/higher average than both and had only 33 K's(that was a few days ago, so the numbers might be different now).
The Yankees are actually playing near .700 baseball. I suspect they like Judge in the two hole as he has a high on base percentage and to take a little pressure off of him

my mistake, Mark. I knew they were at .688 and Boston at .686 the other day, I just had a brain cramp!! while the Yanks are doing it with a steady breeze in the building the Red Sox have been without Mookie Betts for awhile, but I think he just came off the DL. it is quite remarkable.
I expect both to slow down a little bit and end up around .625-.640 or else they'll both be challenging the Mariners record.
It's looking like this is probably going to be the closest and still overestimated all but BA. Predictions now? He's on pace for .285/29/69 assuming he returns from the DL soon.

First player IN HISTORY to record 8 strikeouts in a doubleheader!
0 for 9 with 8 Ks, including 0-5 with 5 Ks in the nightcap!
Steve
I wonder if the "stock market" card price on his rookie card plummets tomorrow?
After the 5th SO in the nightcap the Yankee announcer Sterling was unusually silent on this "achievement".

The OP.....I miss his multiple daily threads about Judge since he got bammed.
