Is anyone still into Coins as a Hobby stricktly ? It seems to me that only Dealers, Flippers , Floppers , and spend junkies are left. My Coin related addictions are under control, for the most part. I'm still into Tire Kicking and when no one is looking I like to do some Keying and Windshield bashing. ✌
The only ATB Puck I still want is the Hawaiian and the price on that is still too far off to entice me to hit the trigger. When it settles way down I might finally get one, one day. No rush on my part.
I don't think those who are buying a puck at $300 raw are looking to make a significant profit but rather to keep their collection going because they got caught short when it was quickly sold out.
Same issue with the Hawaii (same mintage as the Clark)....paying $550-600 raw and $800 six years after release for a 70 probably not a potential profit move but a hole in a collection
I do find it interesting that a set (225th Annie EU) which became obvious that it was going absolutely nowhere got over 83,000 views and over 3,000 comments...yet a series with some significant appreciation potential gets yawns. The bubble has thick walls I guess but I for one have done VERY well with a few of these pucks of no interest....
Obviously SOMEONE collects them and is willing to pay a premium for some of them....just not the crowd here....no biggie
Also...I should mention that there has been some decent price appreciation for some of the bullion issues also which I now buy tubes of instead of buying ASE rolls.....

Does anyone actually LIKE the GRC Monsta Silva Coin? I suspect not, else it wouldn't have ended up as the low mintage Coin in the series. And now that it IS the low mintage "wonder ", has it become more attractive to anyone?
Since it is coming to an end soon it’s almost like if you came this far, see it to the end. I buy 2 on first day and store them away unopened. They still sell and errors show up once in a while. It’s a cool set to have and affordable. I only get the specimen.

It "ended up" the low mintage coin 'cuz it was issued with only 3 weeks left in the year and the initial striking was all they had time for. It had zip to do with LIKING it....
It was only available for a month (5 weeks) and everyone assumed more would be minted BUT can't mint 2017 coins in 2018
.."more attractive"? Well I don't know about looks but regarding recent sale prices the Clark sells for around $265-290 (last two sales BIN's of $267) vs around issue price ($149) for the prior couple of 2017's. They have been off sale for only six months
It's more of a "Oh crap, I didn't order my Clark from the Mint and they're sold out" than a "wonder" coin

It appears mintages are ramping downward this year, with Cumberland around 16,568. It will be interesting to see if Block Island gets short-struck like Clark last year. I like this year's designs.

Thanks for the updates.
It appears mintages are ramping downward this year, with Cumberland around 16,568. It will be interesting to see if Block Island gets short-struck like Clark last year. I like this year's designs.
