Took me a long time but I finally finished my type set. Of course now I want to go back and upgrade a few! Most all of the higher dollar coins were PCGS crack outs.

Holy Cow! Nice job.

Very nice set. Still have a half dozen slots to fill in my 7070, including the LS and trade dollars.
Very cool! Love that '38 Capped Bust half.

Nice! Congrats.
Lance.
congrats.
Great accomplishment! Congratulations on finishing your type set.
I wish the half dimes and three cent silver didn't slide so easily under the plastic in these albums!

Thank you everyone. It is so much fun to pull out the set and show it to friends who have no idea what old coinage looks like. I tried very hard to stay away from whizzed crap and items that would never grade. Like I said before a lot of the stuff was PCGS crack outs because I was afraid of getting some of that counterfeit stuff on the bay.
Here are some of the labels:
Nice. Which was the final coin to make it complete?
Pacific Northwest Numismatic Association
This one:
I kind of jumped around and didn't fill the holes in any particular order. A lot depended on budget at the time and coin availability. Took about four years of off an on buying.
As with a lot of things the hunt is sometimes the best part. For instance I thought I did great at a local coin auction only to buy a dime with a hole in it. Serves me right for not paying attention.
Nice original matching coins!
You beat me to asking this question.
Great collection by the way!

Very nice. Mine is still a work in process.
Very Impressive indeed Great Job. If I may ask what is the average investment to complete if you had to find all those coins in todays market?
Best place to buy !

congrats on the nice accomplishment, wtg
Congratulations, beautiful collection!
You've got a good eye for coins, finishing this book in any condition is a nice accomplishment, one with such well matched quality even more so.
Still, An upgrade now and then keeps it fun for years to come..

I would guess I spent $5~6K ish.... depends a lot on how picky you are. Some of the coins like the early dollars are tough to find at a good price and still have good eye appeal. The set can be completed for a lot more or a lot less depending on the coin quality.
you spent well, I would price that out much higher. What an accomplishment

Congratulations! The 7070 is a very rewarding set. I think it’s amusing you cracked out an MS69 half...
Good Job! I keep thinking of doing one of these but have not started yet. I like the look of the 7070 set in the Dansco album.
Congratulations! I love the look of the Dansco set.
I wish Dansco had a more complete type set offering like the Whitman albums. I’m doing the Whitman one because it has all the holes, but the eye appeal is just not the same.

Congratulations! There are many ways to enjoy our hobby and I believe a good solid type set is one of the best.
Nice,
I've collected for over 40 years and I have yet to all the type varieties
Good on you! Labor of love

Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......
Yah, I was tooling around eBay and I saw that coin, just had to have it.
It is a good hobby and plugging holes is one part. Upgrading is another part. Making friends is the best part.
