John does a great job of writing.
An excessively well written fun read. We need more of this in our coin galaxy.

Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......

Great read. Especially liked the Puerto Rico story.
Great read, thanks for the link.
Yeah, the "People of Walmart" got nothin' on some of the People of the Bourse.

Great read as always. I love how John takes himself seriously enough to get stuff done but no so seriously that he forgets to have fun.
One of my most treasured moments in Coins involves me opening up an " Early Bird "email around 3 minutes after it was sent and spotting the perfect Coin. I got on the phone and soon it was mine !
Contrast that to the time (around 1976) I called a place in NYC to snag a 1921 Peace Dollar ( Full Strike ) for the lofty sum of $500 . Of course that Coin was long gone. To this day I think.of how I lost out. How close was I ..... to a 1921 Full Strike? Guess I'll never know.
But that 1937 PF65 Buffalo in PCGS "Rattler" Holder with CAC " Gold" is mine. Got it! On one Tuesday, I WAS on the ball.
3 minutes is dangerously late

Great article! I love the writing and photos.
I saw an great coin I didn't think existed this year but I was too late to buy it! The condition looks amazing for a 1776 coin.
Ha! Its a first for me! I landed the 1840 Liberty Seated Half Dime! Coins like this is why I collect coins! - its historic, beautiful, gorgeous, originally toned, doesn't break the bank. great pedigree and offered by one of the best and honest dealers out there!
Anyone here buy the Elisaberg Pine Tree?

Always an interesting read.

Thanks for the link... a fun, and informative, article. Cheers, RickO
His year-ends give a perspective on his throughput each year, which for a single dealer, and the quality, is simply staggering.

I'd love to see close-ups of that Trade dollar! What a beauty (from a distance at least).

Nice calm year-end report, no hyperbole, no hysteria, no hard-sell agenda being pushed.
It's a pleasure to read that kind of writing.
Commems and Early Type
Can someone post a larger image of that trade dollar? John? That's a killer coin that deserves a better look.
