who is tired of PSA taking forever to just enter your submission into the system?
They can basically wait forever to fulfill any order, by leaving things unentered to the system. Imagine ordering something from Walmart and Amazon and they promise 2-day shipping, but only after your order is entered which can take weeks.
I am just saying part of their "turnaround" time should factor in the time it sits before it got entered, say after 10 days of sitting it should cut into the actual turnaround limit. This is publicly traded company, spend, invest some money to hire someone who is good at operation/logistic to revamp your operational pipeline, this is pretty terrible customer experience to say the least. I am not talking about hiring more graders, this is just more warm bodies who can open packages and log them into the system. That seems like an easy problem to optimize.
Thoughts?

Been like this since forever. I'd guess average is ~10 days from arrival to entry. You can do stuff like this when you're the only game in town. Best to just accept it and move on.

My tracking shows my package was picked up from them on 12-6 and it's still not logged in yet.
I called CS on the 4th business day on my last sub and they entered it the following day. I'd say just call them if you think its taking longer than expected to enter.

If it's a renewal sub and you write that on the box it gets processed extremely fast. My sub last month took two business days to get logged in.
PSA is known for and sometimes complained about their tough grading standards. If you get a card you thought was nicer than the grade inspect it well and you will find the flaw. If you get a PSA 10 you will have a well centered card with four sharp corners and no registration problems. It requires qualified graders. They cannot just hire folks off the street and try to train them, there could be many misgraded cards out there. It would be better if they just left the ETA open or just give an approximate to alleviate the disappointment when cards are there longer than advertised.

loggage is the new poppage
I disagree; anyone could enter order #'s in a system. saying received. But why don't they do that, it's good customer service and this way people are not thinking, "I see my package delivered, but now where is it? ; they don't guarantee turn around time as far as I know, so no harm no foul.
I have to much S**t; so if you working on sets or are a player/team collector, send me your want list, with conditions desired. Keep in mind I have a another job so please allow me a few days to respond.

This does seem to be a little bit of the issue. Everyone wants their card graded by PSA because of their very high reputation. So let's think outside the box a little. Maybe there should be another grouping subset for orders. Right now, they have specials of 1957 and up and 1956 and older. Maybe there needs to be an additional subset or 2.
1) 1956 and older - your order must contain just this
2) 1957 - 1980 your order must contain just these years
3) 1981 - 1999 basically no rookie card players are still playing (retired)
4) 2000 and up
Maybe if they made you send in cards in this manner, the training of new PSA graders could be more manageable. Keep the more sophisticated, knowledgeable graders in the 1980 an down categories. You may even add more subsets for training purposes. This way the new graders doesn't have to know every decade of cards, but just one or two. This may also open up a few more variation grading options because those graders who grade, let's say, 1981 - 1999 would gain a greater understanding of each set made.
The brand new cards (maybe two or three years) would have their own subset because the grading of those rookie cards would be very vast.
First of all that really stinks and I personally would have called customer service to check on it well in advance of 30 days. Perhaps you did.
That said a renewal sub is a 7 day sub and if you write Collectors Club Platinum Renewal or Seven Day Renewal on the outside I have always had extremely fast logging times.
Was your sub a 10 day special of some kind that is actually a lower service level?
.
I remember this posted by PSA - there seems to be a "bottleneck?"

All i want to know is how long did the camera guy wait out front of the building so that an airplane just happened to be flying over during filming?

Great video! Those offices are actually located a stone's throw from John Wayne (Orange County) Airport, so the videographer probably had many chances to get that shot
There's nowhere in Southern California where there isn't an airplane flying overhead. There's like a dozen airports all over the place. It's one of the great ironies of the entertainment industry.
I believe it now says up to 20 days to log orders on PSA's site. I don't ever remember seeing that before
Based on my experiences with PSA I can share a few thoughts on the subject. I have sent in thousands of cards for grading. I have had some orders get logged in within few days and others delayed a few weeks. There are times of the year when submissions are booming like after the National or other major shows where they accept on-site submissions, or based on monthly grading specials, or simply when many large volume orders arrive in the same time frame. For example, I talked with Joe O's assistant last week regarding some high valued cards I sent in for new holders and she shared that they are swamped right now. I have talked with her many times and believe what she says. So for whatever reason, PSA has a high volume of traffic right now.
Here are a few suggestions, some already mentioned, that might help.
write on the outside of your shipping package what kind of grading special or regular offer your cards are being submitted under. This is especially true with Collector's Club Membership submissions.
make sure your order from is complete and clear. Any issue with the form will cause your order to be pulled and set aside until a representative can contact you. I once left off the estimated values of the cards and it delayed the logging in process for a week. I once used an older form with the previous year's shipping cost listed,,....,they had to contact me and verify I agreed to the increased shipping cost....another delay.
-double and even triple check your order before you send it off to PSA. Once I had one fewer card with the order than listed on the order form. They had to contact me to let me know before they proceeded and I had to give my permission to move on. I found the card on my desk at home and do not know how it was left out. My mistake and it delayed the process by several days.
-one last thing (not related to log-in and grading times) I do is place each order form with cards in a sealed baggie. I once had a Priority Mail box denied acceptance by PSA due to water damage (they will not accept any package that appears damaged so as not to be responsible for the condition of the contents inside). When the packaged came back to me, it looked like it had been dropped in a puddle as about a third of the box had been soaked. Fortunately, the cards inside were undamaged because they had been sealed from the wetness.
Regarding business practices, I would submit that PSA is not similar to typical businesses where an order is placed, the items are pulled from stock and then shipped expediently. PSA provides a service which is often impacted by volume based on demand. My many contacts with PSA have always been in the least very professional and I have learned patience is needed. I recently contacted a contractor I know and highly respect his work. He told me he could do the work but there were several jobs ahead of me and I would have a six week wait at least. I appreciate the quality he provides and will wait the six weeks. I take the same approach with PSA. I believe they are the best at what they do and so I practice patience. However, I will admit that like many of you I tend to check my order status each day hoping for the time when my order has been logged in or graded!

Curious as to where on the site you saw that -- I did not come across it. Was told the move to the new building is largely to blame for the logging delays. My shipment received on 12/05 has yet to be logged as well, so feel your pain.
When you figure they have to receive, unpack, inspect and log it in - and there's 50-100000 card per month, I'd say their turnaround time are excellent.
Current delays are being caused mainly by the move of office. I have a friend at PSA who is involved in the Operations. If you knew how much they have to deal with, you'd know they're actually miracle workers.

I know 7-10 day orders have been close to about double the day totals lately, what has been the average turnaround time for 30/day 10-20/card bulk orders been? I've never subbed a bulk order and i'm planning one for soon after the new year.

I think I might have misread something when I went to the submission center. I think it was psa/dna 20 day turnaround from time entered. I can't seem to find anything else I might have misconstrued!
My package was picked up on 12/5 and logged on 12/15...
I just sent 230 cards bulk service that was picked up on 12/14. Was sweating it out for it just to be delivered and picked up.
That's all I care for now. Loggage in 10 days, 20 days? Don't care. As long as I know it's there and safe.
There's a lot of helpful info about how to 'improve speed' on their website; I'm sure you knew but if you didn't. Things you do to help.
Sometimes I don't think they quite realize how happy we'd be (most of us anyway) to do what we can on our end to make it easier. Perhaps an extra form to fill out and affix to individual cards or something: whatever it takes to get my babies back faster

Sent a bulk order that USPS shows picked up on 12/9, PSA shows they rcvd on 12/11 but is yet to show logged in. It's been years since I have submitted so I'm waiting impatiently. I have a sub for CC membership I need to get boxed and send in as well. Just wanted to see what this first order did so I could judge if I have lost my touch on grading or not before sending in another.
If you can't accept PSA's issues, send your cards to SGC.
I am sticking with PSA and gritting my teeth when things take longer than they should.
By the way they are unusually tough on grading the 1962, 1971 and 1975 baseball cards, send these elsewhere too.
just did a 100 card bulk, came back in under 35 days... these popped...might do the rest of the set...

My 10 card, 10 day submission was received 12/5 and still not logged. That being said I don't think it would make a difference if it was logged sooner, the total time would just be longer. Just like a false wait at a restaurant. They have open tables but they won't seat you because they don't have enough cooks to serve you timely. Sure, they could hire more cooks, but they might not be very good, and your food tastes like crap.
Appreciate today-

Nice grades! I noticed in the past that the higher level service submissions often take longer than the bulk submissions.
Strange!
18 days logged ...35 days shipped on 10 day
NO SANTA FOR ME
STILL WAITING
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Major_League_Baseball_players_from_Panama
Still waiting on orders received on 12/05 and 12/09 (both 10-day) just to be logged.
Cool video I’ve never seen it before. When i called the other day to PSA i was told there was an extra 7-10 delay because the office moved
And no cards or packages were logged in between thanksgiving and the beginning of december. Did anyone else hear this?
This...nothing changes business practices like lost business
Just sent 5 items. It took 14 days from time they picked up at USPS to enter in system. There service is getting worse. SGC is making big in roads to grading.
SGC is making big in roads to grading.
Really, Like arbitrarily deciding to close?
" SGC Office will be closed from Monday, December 25th to Monday, January 1st and will reopen on Tuesday, January 2nd. All packages received during this time will be secured, but will be processed upon our reopening. Thank you and Happy Holidays"
I'm not sure if this is something they do every year, or if it is included in their submission days calender. It surely wasn't posted a few weeks ago on their site.
And 2 month turn around on signed cards?
They are hanging on by a thread, and PSA continues to pick up market share
Is it really that crazy to close for the Holidays? My guess is it's an accounting thing; they've had a good year and can count this year toward the next one fiscally.
Full disclosure: I submit to both companies and think they both do fine work. All you have to do is compare your order numbers; they're basically numbered by submission. Gives you an idea of how many items they process monthly. I have 3 at SGC currently and 5 at PSA currently. I absolutely hate my cards leaving the house under any circumstances and miss them dearly while they're gone. But I also recognize that's true of everyone else, too.

Not crazy to close. Crazy to close without much advance notice.
Is PSA closed next week? I have a 10 day on business day 13 as of yesterday and another 10 day logged the 20th.
Appreciate today-

I'd assume like most normal businesses, closed 12/25 and 1/1? Both falling on a monday!
Well, I just checked and no little elves were loading orders into the system last
Night. Guess I’m still waiting like everyone else.
Have a merry Christmas today
