If you have the ability to hold them, unopened in rolls, for the next one hundred and thirty to two hundred years, then you might have something collectible.

There are the mules, of course, but IIRC, none of those were ever shown to have been found in normal commercial channels - something else went on there. I know I hit the change machine at the local post office looking/ hoping for some Wash-Eagle mules at the time.

I have two or three blank Dansco albums with blank pages for Sackies and Prezzies (and Susies that are dated 1980, 1981 and 1999 - no 1979s). I can get nine pages in the thickest Dansco cover, so that's 144 coins. I also put two Euro coins from Germany in the last two pages of each book.

This is one of my "cheap" collections. But the albums are dang near sixty dollars to hold 144 coins! I tell myself that this is one way to have cash on hand on the day the banks fail to open.

    I despise spellchecker!

Check if you have the "Speared Eagle Variety" clash marks middle of eagle.

What is the current value on this one? Any demand?

Give them to charity. Use them as payment for food. Get $.89 each at CoinStar. I could think of a million things. Wall mosaic ? Guitar pics. Ball marker. Pocket piece. Tip. Bus fair.

First find the best ten , submit them if they are MS 68 or above. Album filler. Stocking stuffer. Piggy bank piece. A buck is a buck, right ?

Not if you bought them from the Mint. Then you lost money

All sound advice until you got to the MS68.
They're not even worth submitting if they get that grade.
I picked one off eBay a couple of months ago for less than $5 I think.

Look for varieties with a premium like the wounded Eagle variety. Flip anything worth any premium and spend the rest.

Sorry I didn't read every thread entry, but I use them in my vending machines at work, it saves me time fumbling with wrinkled bills that I have to insert multiple times and in multiple orientations before it may or may not accept them. Other than that I don't find much use for them.

you want the 1979 P wide rim/near date

if you can find a 1980 or 1999 you'll see what a wide rim/near date looks like.

Edge lettering on the Sacs began in 2009. Although, I remember hearing somewhere of one being struck in 2007.

Buy as many as you can afford. Keep the "GOLDEN" ones. Save them for Armageddon. When times get really bad, people will think (hope) they're gold. You'll be on top.

Yep...it is very large... but they do not take up much room... still plenty of space for firearms.... ;) Cheers, RickO
