Laughable counterfeit 1955 DDO 1c

mannie graymannie gray Posts: 7,259 ✭✭✭✭✭

eBay # 152717347925.
Seller claims to have "found it roll searching." OK, lol
Also same seller "found" a 09-S VDB and 1922 no D "roll searching."
It's obvious that the reverse of the 1955 pictured isn't the same "coin" as the phony baloney obverse.
It already has an $800 bid. Wow.

Unfortunately, one man's crude counterfeit that should not fool anyone can be extremely deceptive to another man. :( Thanks for the post!

    You're welcome.......I have reported it.
I am sure his 09-S VDB is also fake, but the pics are too blurry for me to tell, but I have reported this coin.

    ebay.com/itm/1955-1C-Doubled-Die-Obverse-RB-Lincoln-Cent-/152717347925?epid=170452203&hash=item238ea9cc55:g:Dk0AAOSwJs1ZyVlB

Pretty funny...both the coin and the text later in the auction listing.

I see one bid from the same guy on each of his three fakes. A shill, no doubt.

I can't see anyone who's ever even looked at a Lincoln cent bidding on that. Super bad.

With that look in Abe's eyes he looks a little "stoned".

There are a bunch of roll searchers on Facebook but this one hasn't surfaced in the usual places. Admins probably headed off the posts.

I think this might be a better picture of it. I added this to my "rouges gallery" or "virtual black cabinet" in 2011.

In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

That is a joke.... Anyone who even glances at his/her change should be able to see that is a caricature of Lincoln....Cheers, RickO
