Good job. Next time you submit, polish up the slabs with PlastX a couple times. The easier to review, the better the results.

i agree, or get Maguires at the local auto parts place, easy to use with a poly cloth, I was showing one of the shops how to use it, I'm shocked at how few have a system for slab renew or conservation for that matter.

Was Mr. Albanese finalizer at NGC when that old slab was graded?

If you have a dealer submit, is there any procedure to find out why or why not on any particular coin?

Is there a COLLECTOR index anywhere?

Justin Lee submitted them for me, and was able to talk to John today to hear what he said about the coins:

I did get to talk to John at CAC on my way into the office though.

The 1911 was rejected due to the scratch on the obverse. He called it a very solid XF possible AU coin. But it was market graded to VF due to the scratch. They don't like scratches even when the grade is net graded to compensate.

The 1907 he said would have made a Gold CAC, except that on the reverse someone at some point removed a spot in the upper left side. He said they could see some abrasion marks left behind. Had they just left the spot and let it be natural, it would have easily made the Gold Bean.

The 1926 he really liked. He said that if was to get cracked out today and resubmitted it should easily make 62+ and 63 would not surprise him.

HMM... I HAVE SEEN MANY CAC COINS IN THAT GRADE RANGE WITH SCRATCHES........ SO I THOUGHT SCRATCHES WERE CAC ACCEPTABLE

I DON'T SEE IT, YES SPOT REMOVAL EVIDENCE IS AN IMMEDIATE FAILURE WITH CAC - CAN YOU HIGHLIGHT WHERE THE SPOT REMOVAL WAS ON THIS COIN SO WE CAN SEE IT?

    Best, SH

My best guess is they were talking about the small dark spot on the right, not left. Looks like it might have a few light marks near it.

Let me clarify the remark about the 1911. The scratch on this coin of that magnitude and location that would cause a net grade is not acceptable. Obviously not all scratches are a kiss of death. Sorry for any confusion. As you can see the 1926 that did get a Gold above actually has a decent scratch running from the second star on the left across the feathers to the first 9 in the date. It was obviously not harsh enough to preclude the Gold Bean. :)

Cool sticker. Probably would be green if it (coin) was in the right holder. LOL. Or if it was graded where JA thinks it should be (higher)
