I totally agree with everything Smith said........except NOT during the NA! I liked the way Jerry Jones and the Cowboys did it on Monday night. :)

Well...we lost to the hapless Rams.......now we have to play the Packers!

Like they lose 8 out of the next 10 . It wasn't Romo it was the combination of a terrible owner and coach destroying everything in its path .
So the new guys come in and have a great season but they are slowly poisoned by the Jerry Jones virus, plus they got subjected to a year of terrible coaching. The team lost some guys that didn't help either.

Yes we lost all 4 DB's to FA and 2 off the O-line to FA and our coach is a bystander and our owner is a jerk. If it wasn't for the fact that I have been a die hard fan since 1960 ..... I would pick another team!

The lost guys to FA , so pay them or steal guys from other teams ..... Every team has that issue. The Patriots dinked Malcom Butler around and screwed his head up for 8 weeks , then signed another corner for big money who hasn't done anything..... and that was the genius Bill who did that.

This loss to the Packers falls squarely on Garret "The Stupid"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When your defense is playing like girls you don't want to score with 1:13 and give the ball to Rodgers.
Prescott should have gone down at the 1 inch line for a 1st down. Run the clock down and run Zeke in for the win with seconds to go.

I'm done and just don't care anymore!!!!

That is a ridiculous notion, even for you, DM.

What happens when Elliott doesn't get in?

Blame the loss on your D, which blows.

If I was coaching that game we win. I WOULD NOT HAVE PUT THAT DEFENSE ON THE FIELD AGAIN!!!!!

I would have taken the knee how ever many times it took to get the clock down to 1 second.
Call time out and run Zeke for the win. PERIOD!!!!

As silly as it seems to not score whenever you have the opportunity I think Dimeman has a valid point. Even the announcers said it was a dumb play when the Cowboys threw an incomplete pass in the end zone with a little more than a minute to go, shouting "too soon".

LOL, it sounds easy from behind the keyboard.

Then when Zeke gets stuffed with 1 second left, you'd get fired as the HC, lol..

Nothing is guaranteed in the NFL. You score the TD and you stop the other team from scoring in 60 seconds. If you can't, you don't deserve to win anyway. Period.

If the lead were 1 or 2 pts, I'd agree with you on running the clock down for a game winning FG, but you needed a TD to go ahead and you don't refuse to score in that situation just because your defense is terrible.

I told you at the start of this season, the Cowboys would finish 7-9 this year, maybe 8-8.

They are on that pace right now.

For the pass play call, I would agree, but to order your QB to fall down at the 1 and not score the go ahead TD is asinine.

They hadn't stopped Zeke the whole second have.....so yes...I am serious...I would do it.

If they do stop him the result is the same anyway!

They very nearly stuffed Zeke on 4th and 1. Had he not extended his arm, he would have been stopped. As I said, no guarantees. You take the go ahead TD in that case.

If your D is that horrible, you won't win many games anyway, so what's the difference, right? But you can't coach that way at the NFL level assuming your D will let the other team go 75 yards in 60 seconds.

To be perfectly frank, though, Prescott is a terrific QB, and I expect Dallas will win at least a few more games. They won't win the division or finish 13-3 again, but they are a talented team, at least on offense.

To me it's a situational decision. The D looked decent in the first half, but totally sucked in the second half. That's why I would have done it. I did not trust the D at this point. When Dak scored I told my wife he should have gone down at the 1. She said "WHY". I said "JUST WATCH"!

What happened to the pass rush in the second half? They were getting after Rodgers pretty good in the first half.

Dimeman- Just switch to being a Chiefs fan and this thread title is still valid (A perfect start to the NFL
season). 5-0 now and life is good.
The Chiefs used to be the Dallas Texans anyway, so it wouldn't be like you're being dis-loyal.

What do you say, we have a better team, better coach, and we're already 2-0 against the NFC
east, unlike Dallas. Don't you want to root for a team that has beaten the Eagles and Redskins.
We're about to beat the Cowboys so go ahead and make the switch before then.

They now get into the tough part of their schedule. Plenty of chances to quit again plus Elliott might start serving his suspension next week. Regardless it was indeed a nice division win on the road

Without Zeke (assuming he either doesn't file or unsuccessfully files an appeal within next 24 hours), even a wildcard berth will be tough to secure for this Cowboys team.

It would be tough with him. We are coming into a very hard part of the schedule. Our 3rd down conversion rate would drop putting our defense on the field more which means trouble.
