1913 Buffalo Nickel Grade

What would your opinion be as to the grade of this Buffalo Nickel and why? If in an old
green pcgs holder would it deserve a price bump? Thank you for your time.

Looks at least MS-63. Get it out of that holder. All those green spots are bad! Soak it in acetone.
Well struck for the most part. Kind of unevenly struck in the obverse hair area, and central area on the Buff. The verdigris is annoying, but it should be a 64.

I realize the LIBERTY, DATE, AND REVERSE WRITING is well struck, but the cape is weak as is the foreleg. I thought this would be a 64 due to this, but I never dreamed it would be a pcgs graded coin in an old green holder and graded MS66. Somewhat of a shock. But then I'm certainly no buff specialist.
Wow....it must be much better in hand. I don't like the green either.
I agree with your 64 assessment of the image . To get a 66 it must have been brighter (and less green) at some point.

I have MS66 Buffs.... that is not an MS66 ..... 62/63 perhaps...in hand, maybe a 64...... never a 66. Cheers, RickO
Just to show everyone the holdered coin.
Thanks for your contributions and opinions.

I would have guessed 65 in an OGH. But with all the green gunk on the coin, I'm not sure it would even grade today.
Sell it to a dealer as fast as you can! Many will see the label and offer you an MS-64 or MS-65 price. Many will not see the corrosion that has started!
Looks like a DLRC picture, maybe he will chime in.
BTW, not sure I would even pay $50 for it,

Yes, Moldnut, he has it listed now. I just could not see this coin ever being a 66, even before the corrosion. Then, that's my opinion.
Yikes, I wouldn't even had guessed mint state.
