I'll suggest you dip the coin. You do not want to get any dip on the edge as it will turn the copper an unnatural pink color. Just roll a Q-tip with the dip on to both sides so the surfaces will match. If it is a copper streak in the alloy it will brighten and remain on the coin. Interesting coin and good luck. Let us know what happened.
I don't think so. The rest of coin really has nothing going for it with the spots and wear. If the coin were a Gem Mint State piece, it might mean something. Believe or not that "something" could be good or bad. Not all mint defects add value. Some are good; others can be bad.
Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

Nevertheless, if this is a Mint made defect (one I've never seen on an Ike), it would make a very pedestrian piece of spending money a very interesting item to many collectors (CRH and myself) who cannot purchase more costly coins.

Spend it on a coin grading book.
Everything there is PMD.... so that coin is of no added value.... Cheers, RickO
It is worth $1.00.
