I ate so many cheerios trying to get the dollar. I still have all the Cheerio cents. Depressing to count them and realize just how many boxes of cheerios I ate.
I think (not sure) a sealed Cheerios cent with packaging in excellent condition is worth about what a box of cereal costs or a little more.
Each Cheeros cent is worth a box of cereal? Man did these go way up in price. yes!! Major score!!
I just did a quick search of Ebay completed auctions. Sold listings between 6.60 and 28 for one coin! Most were on the lower end of course.

My wife and waist line says.....
It wasn't the Cheerios that did it, it was the Hershey kisses you put on top to add flavor.
Sell those Cheerios pennies and buy her something shiny and she'll forgive you.

She may be happeir if i buy a nonshiney bathroom scale for myself.
Had I won the item at auction, I would have immediately sent a certified letter to the US government asking for clarification of my right to hold title, while offering to surrender it, without undue delay, if I was not legally entitled to possess the item.
If the powers that be said, 'keep it, it's yours', I would be a happy camper to this very day!
If they said 'No, give it back', I would have done two things:
Returned it, in person, and with two witnesses at hand.
Sent certified letters of demand for full reimbursement of purchase price, and all costs associated with my returning it to the feds, to both PCGS and Heritage Auctions.
Sounds like a lot of trouble with many potential pitfalls and costs. Why not send that letter to the feds now and ask for a status before you bid up the price at auction?

So instead of calling it a "Mint error", we call it a "Mint on purpose"?
There are a couple of errors here:
I think it should be called a "Fantasy Mint Error"
