Morgans, that have peripheral toning extraordinaire in ms that you would like to show off. Just to let you all know I am especially interested in the following:
1882-O/O, 1882-O/s, 1886-s, 1888-s, 1899-o with heavy die cracks on the periphery of the reverse, 1889-s, 1899-P, 1891-cc, 1892-cc VAM-8A with the filled 2 in 1892.
Thanks for reading

Sage advice from a young sage.......I hope nobody listens to you. How is your phenom Peace set going? Ditto on the Vam Peace's that you can collect.

Win some and lose some. If you run out of cash and need to sell some of your trades let me know when you list them at auction. I'll sure we will bid them up.......ish ;)

Welcome to the world of 'big silver'.... ;) Although some do not like them, Morgans are a great coin to collect... and the market is plentiful... Good luck, Cheers, RickO

The ubiquity of Morgan Dollars makes them a huge turn off for me. However, I'm glad you found a new interest.

Morgan dollar is the perfect collector coin. Classic design, generally well struck, lot's of metal and big enough that us old guys can see them.

And there are sooo many ways to collect them. VAMs, toners, PL/DMPL, errors, by dates, by mints, full run, specific date or mint, proofs, lowballs, choice, gem, star only, plus only, GSA, Redfield etc etc

    The more you VAM..

It's a "numisretrovirus" many of us acquire. It can lie dormant for many years, or spring into full-blown infection in a few hours. The particularly virulent strain produces genetic changes resulting in "VAMpirism."

The clearest outward symptoms are a glazed look in the eyes when seeing old GSA silver dollar holders, and involuntary flexing of the fingers at sight of unslabbed Morgans. Spouses generally report mild long term effects, and they are certainly not of the extent seen in those suffering from dreaded "patternesis argentus acquisitatus."

The Morgan Dollar has its historical appeal, but I've never been excited enough about them to go for a date and mint set. I build a couple of those for collectors when I was a dealer. I dabbled with a one a year set a coupld of times, but lost interest.

Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
