I had one at my shop. Kinda funny.
Y'know how most places put a bar inside their rear door to prevent opening.
Well, I put a length of chain on my steel back door.
Sooo...... if the door got jimmied, it would open.
(about 6 inches)
Just enough to trip the door sensor.....but not allow entry.
Soooo, this guy enters from the shop next door through the ceiling vent.
Whereupon he discovers that coin shops put their stuff in a big SAFE at night.
Well damn..... nothing here.
AND
No way OUT
Of course, the alarm is sounding, the cops are coming, and here's a poor sap locked IN a coin shop.
He must have been an optimist as he brought a BIG bag.
So out he wriggles BACK thru the vent and into the ceiling.
Cops are now THERE and....while ..I..tellem to go to the END of the building where he will probably attempt to jump to the NEXT building.....THEY ...go to the opposite end where there's...nothing.
So, Boobster gets away.
But he manages to get on the VIDEO
Happy they did not succeed.... However, be ready - they are amateurs, and they will think they have 'learned' something, and will be back....Cheers, RickO
Not all are amateurs.
When I was robbed, it was a nicely dressed guy asking legit coin questions. Even showed him a few. He pondered a bit and then asked to see one of them again.
As I turned to the safe to get it again, I heard his jacket swish and knew he was drawing a gun.
No chance to use mine.
I was covered and the bullets were poking out of the cylinder.
After ordering me to the floor, he came behind counter and pushed the stupid buzzer door to let his TWO accomplices in.

Well I'm certain you have surveillance, so press on with that. Good luck.
Great doors you have there.
That would make me furious if I owned a shop.
Be careful, stay alert.

Oh yeah! (HAD though as I quit in 2003)
BUT...he also managed to get caught on the ARCO video as he ran past there.
I'm hoping he gets a Netflix series.
Smittys...how much did the door repair set you back?
My YouTube Channel
16 cameras at this location. And thieves still got away every other week.

Glad they didn't get your Dr. Pepper!
I was going to say, "at least they left you some refreshing beverages " but you beat me to the soft drink humor line.
Just glad they didn't get in.

Safer for everyone that it was attempted burglary while no one was there as opposed to armed robbery.
They probably know I carry high and tight cocked and locked
Celebrating my 500th post and soda makes me gassy.

Oh, I had one of those, too.
The pistola is no good if they already have you covered.
Learned THAT day HOW to set up a shop.
Step 1. Get RID of the stupid buzzer door.
I 'd rather they know I have an over/under loaded with deer slugs.
