I thought it looked like a trilobite too.
Here's some side view shots, to show how recessed the area of the strike-through is .
Interesting... it does appear insect-like... and I also thought of trilobite fossils... Though I would doubt an insect would have enough substance to cause a strike through... certainly appears that 'something' was there... Cheers, RickO
