Hi Bill! How have you been?
I'm sorry to say...yes - that box of raw vintage was the last to go. For the past few years I have been dabbling in the precious metals world. I ended up getting an offer that I couldn't refuse for the cards. I took the money from the cards and converted the cardboard into silver and gold. Sometimes I think of re-entering the hobby but I don't know at what capacity. Good to hear from you and I hope you are well!
Doing all right Bob, thanks. And I am sure you got a healthy ransom in PM's for those! I still follow your angle and pick up a few raw cards here and there, not to grade but to keep raw with eye appeal. Keeps it fun and diverse without getting caught up in graded premiums. Hope all is well too and glad to see you are still around. Hopefully you catch the bug again and share your re-entry
While I am here, I can add these to the mix from my meager Mantle collection.
Wow it's great to see Steven and Rob posting again! It's been too long since we've talked! Yes I'll definitely be at the natty as usual. I'm working on getting everything ready this week. I've been gone on vacation for the past couple weeks so time is short!! Who is coming to the show? I know Keith is gonna be there. Awesome cardboard guys! Love seeing all the beautiful Mantles.

Not much of a Mick fan? What is that supposed to mean? I don't understand.
Compared to my other pursuits, I haven't put much effort into collecting his cards. Brutal mistake. But, I chase other HOFers more vehemently, that's all. I have other Mickey stuff. I'll try and have a look to dig something else up.
Hey man...been forever, you have such beautiful mantles...how's the farm? Sell for a 52T? Haha. Have you ever tried to review some of those? That 58 is the best 8 I've seen.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
I remember the card now and turned down a chance to buy it when it came up due to pursuing other cards. That is a monster of a 58 Mantle - you did very well on that card!
Close. I think I actually bought the 57 instead of the 58 when they came up for sale. No question there were some great cards up for sale all at the same time, and if my lemonade stand had been churning out more profits I might have bought both of them!
Thank you guys. actually got that from a fellow board member a while back after I missed on a Heritage auction. Found one just as nice in a lower grade so I sold it and used the profits to grab this card - slowly becoming my favorite card. Might have to move one of my Mantle rookies to find the other key CJ card - a Shoeless Joe.

KC...my '57 is safe now that you have a beautiful, centered copy!
Maybe one day I will come after your 57 Monte - that is an amazing card. Told my wife I am saving up for a fake mid life crisis car That one will definitely cost me a Mantle rookie!
Some good Mantle Poppage !! I pulled this 1969 Topps Stamps Mickey Mantle panel from a pack in the early 80's as a young teen. Somehow I managed not to tear all the stamps apart. I sent into PSA and just got the results back.

That's a real neat item...I wonder what it will look like in a PSA holder...plz share when u get it back!!!
Not the best quality pictures but here are my favorite mantles in brand new holders. Tried for a bump and was denied, oh well..centering and eye appeal remain the most important factor to me.

The few and the proud....bottom 2 are self-subbed, top one came from Greg Morris. Not much of a Mick fan, but these I like. Enjoy.
I am bringing all Yankee cards to Chicago next week
Maybe a 1929 Ruth or 2 as well.
And some Judges to cover the modern stuff - have a bunch to get graded as well as 2013 boxes and BGS 9.5's.

I was kidding...how can anyone not be a mick fan?!! Those you are posted are pretty seeet looking especially for the grade..congrats.
I kinda figured as much.
Here's something I thought was pretty cool, so I found a snug little spot in the oddball box for it.
Amazing stuff guys! Here is a couple of my favorites... PS I still have not figured out how to attach a scan

the '58 Mantle looks like an 8.5 to me. I would try for a bump. Beautiful card...

Wow...that 57 is badass

Muffins - sweet pickups on the 58 dual auto, and the 57 Mantle has elite centering.

Muffins and Belz - Congrats on your Mantles posted !!
KC - I still have the 8.5 and its a beaut
I also got the 1969 Topps Stamps Mickey Mantle panel back today from PSA. Glad I finally sent it in for grading!!
Dang that 8.5 is killer...cool on the panel, neat unique item.
Just one for me right now.
Appreciate today-
Bill
It is a sweet card. Was hard to part, but not too many chances for a Mantle rookie so had to make a decision. Glad you enjoy the card
