Hey I can play, just reshot it, one of my favorite representations of Lincoln and a powerful no fear appearing Eagle.
Images courtesy of myself.
Cool, I have an example in XF-40. Was a pop-1 coin for a while, now I see there is another...

As I am sure some of you already know, the obverse design of the Illinois Centennial Half Dollar was done by George Morgan and was based on the Andrew O'Connor statue of Lincoln that was placed at the Illinois State Capitol in Springfield that same year. The reverse eagle design is based on the Illinois State Seal.

Nice coins everyone. This is one of my favorite commem designs. Someday I'll find the right one.
Some great coins here. I'm surprised how much I like the circulated ones.
My own piece, photos taken by Mike Printz.

Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......
I can't. Mine is... junk.
I will let myself out.
Here is my bright white example.
And here is an 1860 Lincoln Ferrotype, a political campaign piece. 1860 marked the first year that actual photos of the candidates appeared on buttons on a regular basis. I have seen pictures of one with Millard Filmore from 1856, but that one is rarer than hen's teeth.
The LInocln image on this piece was cropped from the photo Mathew Brady took of him when he made the Cooper Union speach when he was running for the Republican nomination. The reverse depicts Hannibal Hamlin who ran with Lincoln in 1860,. Hamlin was from Maine.
I let this one go a couple years back and have regretted it ever since.

It has had a good home for the last couple of years though

I thought it was you. I may be mistaken though. I'll have to dig through my archives.
edited to add : @Eagleguy, you are correct. I had my names mixed up. It was from Richardshipp.
I have always liked the Lincoln commem. And if you look at the circ ones you can see Abe ageing as he did in office for 5 years.

These were among the last working hubs that were manually touched up by Morgan. Most of the subsequent commemorative hubs came from the Janvier lathe with only minor cleanup.
I have always preferred this rendition of Lincoln over the cent....Cheers, RickO
Really nice examples! I think both the obv. and rev. designs are first rate. Someday I'll have one.
