Finally pulled the trigger on an Owl coin (e.g. ATTICA. Athens. Ca. 440-404 BC. AR Tetradrachm)

Been wanting one for a long time, but either the price was right but the strike wasn't good enough for my taste, or the strike was superb but the price was a bit out of reach for me. This one seemed to have the right combination strike, surface, and luster that got me over the hump...the later (e.g luster) is booming underneath a little bit of dirt. Thought I'd share...

Amazing the luster that remains after nearly 2500 years. Yours is a very, very nice coin!
Awesome hooter! Congrats! I've never had one because my taste in those outruns my budget, by quite some distance. Maybe one day.
But as it happens, I too just bought an Owl, though mine is from a Spartan colony, not Athens.
Ancient Greece (Spartans in Taras, Calabria, Italy): silver drachm, Athena and owl, ca. 302-281 BC
And sold my other one to @Aethelred:
Ancient Greece (Pontos, Amisos): silver drachm or siglos featuring Hera and owl, ca. late 5th to 4th century BC
BTW, @mercurydimeguy - I found an 1869 Uruguayan coin with a sunface on it in my stuff (4 centavos?) and thought of you.
Nice coin. I sold a very similar one at Baltimore this last week, but yours is definitely nicer.

Josh, it's a small world...I actually saw yours and it is very nice: Attica Athens After 449 B.C. Tetradrachm NGC AU
Yep, that's the one. They don't normally stick around very long. Bought that one last month.
I guess I need another one now.

Love it! Congratulations on a great pick up
Mazel tov! I've long admired that tetradrachm but have yet to fork over the cash sufficient to buy one.
