Newp, 1st Round, Koala Detail
Hey guys,
I'm not a stacker, but I read through this forum. Then today I went out window shopping in some pawn shops for a cell phone for my daughter, and one of the shops had a whole lot of different rounds which included a lot of American Eagles, a bunch of generic rounds and small bars that were nothing special (trust me on that), and one each of some interesting 2016 and 2017 rounds like a Mexican Libertad, a couple Canadians, a Britannia (that I might go back for), and this little gem. My theory is that the owner of the shop, or perhaps a customer, was speculating on eagles, bought a sampling of other country stuff and then changed his mind on stacking. The guy told me they were spot plus $5 for the American and Canadian, and Spot plus $3 for the other ones. Well, I only had a $20 on me, and figured out that I could buy this little guy for just less than $20 since it had a $3 premium. I did figure out this was worth a little more than the others based on ebay prices. They didn't charge me sales tax...can't determine whether that was correct or not.
So here's the entirety of my stack. I really like looking at this one. I do have a couple British Virgin Island Pegasuses (Pegasi?) coming to me in the mail soon so my stack should triple.

If you are going to pay over spot , perth mint bullion is high quality stuff. Just don't get down too far into the weeds . Koalas , kooks , maybe the lunar 1 oz are great The stuff like saltwater crocs , spiders etc is not worth paying up for, and don't start with the half oz , 2 oz , 10 oz. kilo etc unless you can get it cheap.
Nice coin.
Here's a list of states that do and don't collect sales tax on precious meta purchase:

Pretty bullion coins can be quite enticing. Have a plan.
I knew it would happen.
Thanks! That clears that up.
