FUN Show questions

Had to boot my wife from the trip 'cause my niece moved in with us for six months. She just started an esthetics program and at 17YO we don't want her to be at home alone.
Sorry about that!
I will have free reign and no baggage.... er... I mean family responsibilities.
So to the important questions...
Where to stay?
Where is the nearest Casino?

You better reserve something quick or you will have a little extra driving - ugh. I like to get there, park the car, and not move it for the entire show. My favorite places - the Rosen Hotel's were full months ago!
There are a lot of hotels on International Drive, but if you like the hotels very close to the show, it might be too late. I like the Rosenplaza, but I could not get in there last year. I think my wife did get a reservation this year.
Summer FUN is a regional show. It is not as big as the winter show, but it's still fun.
But, of course the FUN show is fun!
An authorized PCGS dealer, and a contributor to the Red Book.
My wife reserved room at the Ritz, but I'm thinking a little more budget conscious and closer.
Nothing fancy but we've stayed at a Marriott Spring Hill Suites near Sea World. Free parking and they are on a Trolley/Bus route that will take you right to the Convention Center. Two years ago it cost twenty-five cents for seniors.
it's crackers to slip a rozzer the dropsy in snide
THe closest Casino is the Hard Rock in Tampa (full casino). It's about a 1 hour drive from the convention center. As an option you can stay there and make the drive- the hotel is great.
I'm not a gambler, but I have been to the Hard Rock in the Tampa area. It is not exactly in Tampa, but it is a super nice facility.
It has the look of a Vegas casino, but not the feel. You have to check to see what they have in table games. I know there was a big debate in the legislature as to whether or not they could offer Black Jack. I don't know how that was resolved. There are many, many slot machines however.
There is a smoking and non smoking casino so if you want to get more of the Vegas atmosphere, you can go to the smoking area.
The Hard Rock in Tampa has a full casino with board games. It's about 10 miles East of downtown Tampa.
I cannot imagine a casino without Blackjack.... The one game, played skillfully, where the odds are actually in favor of the player...

I am more of a poker player.
I like the idea of staying at or near a card room or casino.
An hour drive to unwind from looking thru a loupe all day isn't the worst option. Followed by some poker... win/win
