Proof-Like or not?

I've had this Morgan for a few months now and I haven't been able to decide if it's worth it to try for the PL. Do you guys think it has a shot at getting it? Thanks

Under today's PL standard, probably not PL.
The reverse has die polish lines that hold it back.
Nice looking coin in the current holder, I would leave it as is.
I would say no. There are too many raised die polish lines in the fields to give the coin that kind of mirrors that qualify for the P-L designation.
That's a beautiful coin, it's hard to tell from pictures but I think it might have a chance.
Pl-"ish" It is about 100 coins too late.
Thanks for the responses. I'll post more pictures when I get home.

You might try taking a few images with the "print" test...holding a piece of printed material to measure how deep the fields are.

Which 8/7 VAM is the OP coin?
It doesn't appear to be the usual VAM 8, which has a medium 's' and blob of metal in the upper loop of the second 8 like this picture below.
It also appears to be AU based on your photos, so the PL status would irrelevant since PCGS will only give the PL designation on MS coins.
Coinsandmore, that coin of your is just a normal coin. Zero mirror!
The OP coin's reverse will hold it back. If it didn't make it back then, no chance it makes it today.
I agree, not PL.... a nice Morgan though...Cheers, RickO
Your 67PL example is actually a 67DMPL.
You will find a good discussion in this previous thread.

Here is a link to PL/DMPL gauge that may help identify the depth of mirrors.
Remember mirror depth is subjective and varies by grader and especially when you factor in that PCGS has been grading coins for over 30 years.

Not proof-like.
@CoinsAndMoreCoins
I would adjust the scale so that the left edge of the word "deeply" is 4+ inches away from the red line.
The old standard use to be 2-4" for PL and 4+ for DMPL, but again that was very subjective when you got near the cutoff point.
Today's grading standard on raw coin submissions is very tough and the mirrors on a DMPL should be free of haze.
Don't be confused on reviewing Trueview photos that have accumulated over many years when the standards were looser.
Also coins in old holder's can get a new holder and cert# when submitted for re-grade in holder. This makes it looks like the current standard is as weak as the older standard. But if those coins were cracked out and submitted raw they would not get the same designation. Looking at a coin in person is the best way to determine if the coins meets the current standard.
But you can also get pretty good at comparing photo's from the same auction website against each other to determine the level of mirror depth. Most of the time the photo's of various coins are shot with the same "setup" and you can see a noticeable difference in the mirrors.
PCGS does not grade AU coins PL or DMPL, NGC does.
NGC will PL an AU50 to 58 coin, but usually only if it is a rarer date.
