In the past few weeks there was a thread about forum members we missed. I mentioned
Greg. About two months ago I E-mailed him and checked his last appearance logged in on
this forum. No response to the E-mail and his last appearance here was mid-July 2018. I asked
Charles from Coin Week about him and he said he hasn't heard from him in awhile. This was
a couple of weeks ago. I did enjoy his articles at Coin Week and his input on this forum.

But couldn't it be an older article, that CDN just published now. When I wrote articles for numbs mag they had my article for about a year in the pipeline before it was published. Unfortunately based on what we know this doesn't mean that he has been found imho. Why would he not post here like he used to, something doesn't make any sense.
I thought you wrote for mad magazine? I always assumed you did the foldy thing at the back

At one point @Analyst was getting some very negative criticism from Laura Sperber - telling him he couldn't grade,
and I think from someone else trying to tell him his opinions were not valid because he was not a buyer in high end rarities.
I think Laura should have stated her opinion more tactfully, but it was her choice.
I value his work and hope to see more of it in the future.
Life as a journalist can be very tough these days.

I hope Greg wasn't run off by her bellicosity, bullying, and nonsense. I think his insights and comments are far more relevant to 99% of the market than her comments and opinions.

Can you imagine the "discussions" if he had been posting to the
"Hansen Watch" thread.
Greg has never posted on the “Hansen watch” tread. He did post several times on the predecessor thread “The Next Eliasberg”. His postings were long but very informational with lots of research. I hope someday he will come back and become involve in the Hansen thread. He could add so much value.
Perhaps Greg has found Paradise........found that is. Would nicely esplain his absence, and she has been missing as well. I think there are better things to do in Paradise than collect old coins.
With so many wanting to know where you have been, you should accept that as a huge compliment. Not one coin forum member has tried to find me, in the several years I have been absent. Golf and travel have been my adventures, with only a short time spent at coins, twice per year.
But I am always available to you for comment on bust halves and early dollars.
TahoeDale: With so many wanting to know where you have been, you should accept that as a huge compliment.
Fair point, Dale, I should accept the compliment, despite the reality that multiple threads on ths forum, including this one, contain nasty remarks about me and belittling jokes. I welcome fair criticism, however, and I was very much willing to debate on this forum with those who sensibly disagreed with me.
My experiences on this forum have not been entirely happy. While I am grateful to Don Willis and David Hall for allowing me in the past to post links to my articles and to permit me to discuss them here, I am a bit upset that they often allowed insulting or defamatory remarks to remain posted, in addition to false statements about my career and my personal life. I am glad that at least two offensive participants were suspended or banned by the current administration, though they were probably punished for attacking others, while I was absent.
JonRuns: Greg wrote an interesting editorial on page 5 of The CAC Rare Coin Market Review I received in the mail on August 2, 2019.
Actually, I am particularly proud of that article, as I honestly believe that it explains the meaning, role and policies of CAC. That article is about CAC, not about my own personal opinions. I have contributed an article to every issue of The CAC Rare Coin Market Review, though only one of those articles is currently online.
I have an article in almost every issue of the Greysheet Monthly. Most of these are available for free online:
Also, I have contributed articles to all recent issues of COINage Magazine. While these are not available online, COINage magazine is sold at more than half of all the Barnes & Noble stores that I have personally visited.
Regarding coins and markets for coins, I have had published around 25 articles over the last 12 months or so, which is much less than my typical yearly output over the last dozen years. Moreover, I have continued with consulting work and research for collectors and dealers. I plan to be much more active in the future.

Thanks for the post Greg / @Analyst. It's great that you're still publishing and I appreciate the links. I will check them out. I didn't see them because was looking on CW.
I do think it's a shame that you were on the receiving end of some negative posts and those would affect me as well. You put a lot of effort and I think the criticism that I recall was unfair.
Comments
Analyst. I should also note that I very much enjoy your contributions to this forum. In fact, I rate you numero uno. In my book at least.
Someone mention Greg in another post. He been gone for more than I would have expected. Has anyone checked on him lately?

I don't have it with me but I think I saw a new article by Greg in the lastest CDN.
If you find it, please share.

Yes there is an article in the Aug 2019 Greysheet by Greg Reynolds, aka @Analyst here. It is about XF/AU Barber Halves.
Not going to post it here. Think it is currently only available to CDN subscribers (which I am paying too much for perhaps for the last time).
There is an email address at the end of article which is the same as Analyst posted in this thread on July 9, 2017 9:52PM .
Here it is with spaces:

Agreed. What is "numbs mag?"

I think Greg Reynolds posted a nice article in the:

Another bump for our @Analyst. Hope you come back soon

I guess I missed what happened to Greg?? I miss his input as well.
Well, just Love coins, period.

I am delighted by the positive feedback from sophisticated collectors. Indeed, I very much appreciate support and encouragement from @Zoins, @Tibor, @CameoNut2011, @OldIndianNutKase, @Hydrant, @BidAsk, @YosClimber, @Ronyahski, and others.
