It fits in nicely with the rest of my toned morgan dansco and was a bit of shock to come across.
Thoughts?

This is a tough one for me. Looks like you have to angle it to get the color to show but would be willing to bet it looks a little darker if it was a straight on shot. Is it blue around the edge or does it appear blackish?
There's a shot from directly overhead.

This is a splendid coin easy on the eyes in hand. Great pickup and you're welcome on the lead
Very pretty coin.
Looks like an old paramount holdered coin.
Looks like an excellent coin...great pick up.

Decent target toner
Great pickup of a NICE toner
I'm not convinced it's natural.
I don't see the two C's but other than that, it's a stunner!

You asked for thoughts so I will share mine with you. I believe, from those images, it is artificially toned.

Nice! It looks a little like album toning.

For those who think it is artificially toned, what is the give away for you apart from the fact that it is not in a NGC or PCGS holder?
Having held this coin in hand and thoroughly examining it, I will assure anyone on this board that this is a 100% naturally toned coin in all respects
Cheers.
The coin is certainly pretty. Based on my experience, I avoid a purple hue on anything but PF copper. A number of PF Braided Large Cents in BN display a purplish hue. Purple is an easy color to create.

I am in the AT crowd, because of the colors. Whenever I am offered a Morgan dollar with those colors, I pass on the offer.
I have not held the coin to personally evaluate it. That being said, it has the pattern/progression of an AT coin... Cheers, RickO
Please tell me why you believe it to be naturally toned.
Have you owned it for many years?
I would have guaranteed it to be AT.
The obverse "looks" very AT to me. The reverse not so much. If I just saw the reverse I'd say maybe. But the obverse pattern and color progression seems wrong. I could be wrong though. It's certainly "questionable" imo.
You have to explain the strange interior shadows on the reverse letters "ESO." Then the letters "E, R, C" in AMERICA which have abrupt color changes inside the lettering.
It's a nice piece, but I would not have bought it unless it was TPG certified...excellent album coin!

I am also in the AT crowd - I'd say 75%-80% sure. The progression on the obverse and pink-purple combination looks wrong to me. Also, the toning on both sides is a not too similar (although the reverse looks ok to me on its own). Mostly, it's the color transition on the obverse. However, as Todd mentioned, some Paramount coins have a similar look, but usually without that pink.
It's not really pink as in barbie doll pink. It's more of a lighter shade of purple that gets lighter as you go towards the middle.

It's blue and pink, return it. AT.

I don't use the terminology of artificial or natural where it concerns toning on a silver coin. It is either incidental, or it is intentional to me. I always examine a toned coin initially for signs of a motive to intentionally tone. The pattern and color of toning on the OP's coin has never motivated me to pay a premium just for the toning, even if it is even judged to be incidental.

Because I've owned AND seen multiple different types/denominations of coins with this old paramount toning that have all graded out.
Anything different or out of the tastes of you guys is AT. LOL. Hey, sell em to me! I'll be glad to be the one to make money off of the ignorance of others
I like it and having not had it in hand I will say that it might looks to others as arty because of even look of the toning, but I would ask why? it looks like a clean coin and don't see any majors that would make it a candidate to cover

Here's a few of my personal photos to aid this "discussion" :
That looks like the same coin from the OP...I still like it as an album coin.

It is the same coin

Just curious, why isn't this one "graded out" seems a coin like this would be much more valuable in a problem free holder, no?
I'm a big fan of blueberry toned coins. Love it.
Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
It's not slabbed because it's an album coin (its in my Morgan dansco)

Looks like I misread boyernumismatics post as "here is another coin with similar toning", and not as "here are a few of my own images of the same coin". My apologies.

I was more curious why the seller didn't have it slabbed, I'm certain it would have been worth the fees and got the seller more money if it straight graded. just my opinion.
I'm not sure. Sometimes coins just don't find their way into peoples hands who have the time or energy to send them off. I bought this coin from the dealer of my local coin shop here near New Orleans, LA. He has provided me with many slabbed and raw coins for my collection. If this coin were not in my album I would send it off myself.e

Whether it is artificial toning or not, it looks AU, which takes any added value away, even with natural toning.
I can't find any wear on this coin.

I stick with AU and the artificial toning is covering up the circulation in the fields.

Im confused, are you and
Boyernumismatics the same person? You mentioned in another thread that your IG is boyernumismatics.
AT
but still fun
This was a previous post from a different thread. Not sure what is going on between these two, but the fact that the above coin is not graded makes me wonder since he/they send coins in all the time. I vote same person.
We are not the same person, but merely venture into business together and are related, lol. If you don't believe me you can ask my buddy @pa_coins . He's the largest dealer on IG.
Another big LOL to the AU sentiment, on top of the AT claims.
I surely hope that I did not offend anyone with my ignorance.
That was not my intent. I was merely trying to learn from your vast experience with these coins.
My apologies.
@OwenSeymour , not @pa_coins on here, my mistake.
Send it in and prove how smart you are and how dumb we are. With as many orders as you say you send, not sure why this one coin was not sent in. I will guess it was and came back AU, AT, or both.
