How many transactions of selling have you had on The Bay? I just researched, and over the past 16 and a half years I had 433. Actually more than I had thought. What say you?

I'm in the 251-500 category as a seller and much closer to 251 than 500.

I have been selling on ebay since 2009 (8 years total) and average ~3 sales/month or so.

Interesting poll... I have never sold anything on ebay (was not an option)... Have a friend who did it as his business for years (recently retired) and was very successful.... We hear some nightmare stories here from time to time, however, it would seem they are the exception - or people would not continue selling there. Cheers, RickO

1000+ Not as a business, but as a hobby. Keeps my mind occupied as a "senior" citizen.

For most collectors, eBay is the only way they get access to coins in the $1-$100 price range. I would have to think that only a fraction of people in the US live within 30 minutes of a brick and mortar coin shop...and eBay is often cheaper if they do.

Since eBay has a near monopoly on that market I am hoping that websites with lower fees, like Etsy, start catering towards coin collectors.

Selling on eBay since November 1997, current rating 15,101 unique feedback (100% positive) with over 18,000 individual positive feedback. Only a few thousand in the last 6 or 7 years. A nice hobby that helped support my bad habits. :p

Over 1500- also not as dealer- although i do sell for a dealer on occasion. I have done well selling estates inherited by friends who do not know anything about coin values. eBay is also a great way to sell coins i that have upgraded or do not want anymore.

    Always trying to learn more

Seems like we need to further break the poll down in the over 1,000 range.
