Agreed - it's a fantastic time to buy.

I wish I could participate in this bear market. I've got several items of interest coming up in some auctions in the next few weeks. None of them are among the finest known; a couple are rare, but they are not U.S. coins; and none of them have CAC stickers. All of that should add up to at least couple of coins selling at moderate (note NOT cheap) prices, but I know it probably won't.

Maybe I should start collecting Walking Liberty half dollars. That will probably result in a 50% increase in the auction bids. ;)

Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

Try the BST with a few pieces... you may do well...If not, then make a decision - hold for better times or take the loss and move on. Cheers, RickO

Another good reason NOT to keep a record of what you paid for a coin.

When you sell, it is ALL gravy above face value.
