I'm going to the PNNA in Tukwila on Friday. Looking forward to it very much!!

I also attended a small show in Clackamas, OR last Sunday. Maybe, I'll do a combined show report on both. I picked up some nice stuff at the Clackamas show, as well as a few nice things from a local dealer on Monday. So I will have some eye candy to show this weekend.

We are very proud that our club has been recognized by the IBNS (International Bank Note Society) as the official chapter club for Los Angeles. The IBNS is a world wide organization started in 1961 supporting the growth and efforts of those who deal and collect bank notes. Their website is www.theibns.org

Dr Ali Mehilba, one of our club members, has written the "Encyclopedia of the Libyan Banknotes" A great book and highly recommended. Take advantage of a current special price of $30 (reg $40) by going to his website www.alinotes.com and making contact.

I highly recommend the work and effort by Owen Linzmayer, who is undertaking the massive job of producing a reference guide more complete and without errors to the Krause publication on Foreign Banknotes. His website is www.banknotebook.com

Dr Ali Mehilba, has written his second reference book on paper money. His recently released reference guide to World Replacement Notes is fantastic and is receiving worldwide acclaim. Please contact at www.alinotes.com for ordering.

David Schwager, one of our club members has written a book on sample slabs. Originally distributed free to collectors, dealers, and grading services; sample slabs have an active secondary market. For a free 68 page chapter, see SampleSlabBook.com

Dr. Ken Berger recently published his book about Philippine currency circulation during the Japanese occupation in World War II, Philippine Emergency notes: Counterstamped, Signed & Initialed (CSI) - Cebu Province. It is the product of years of scholarly research. This book has been in development for many years. It is the most extensive and detailed examination of the 1941 and 1942 Cebu Emergency Currency ever compiled, along with the counterstamps, signatures and initials which are found on many of them. The cost of the book is $50.00 plus $3.00 P&H. Copies may be obtained from the author at csinotes@juno.com or P.O. Box 90314, San Diego, CA 92169
