Love the Big John Stud card. The signature placement made me wonder. I'm not a huge auto guy but did certain guys, athletes / Entertainers tend to always sign items in the same spots?
I'm interested to know if certain guys have there usual spots. Like for the Big John card would he always sign over his own face? Or was that a silent FU to whoever asked for the Auto.
I guess I ask because I could see it a few ways.
You have that guy who is disgusted with him self for a myriad of reasons, true or otherwise and consciously or unconsciously writes over themselves.
Or it's a guy who for whatever reason is pissed at the person who asked for the auto. I mean maybe they interrupted a dinner, knocked a kid out of the way, or otherwise acted like a dick when asking for the auto.
Or he was simply rushing through a crowd and signed where ever.
Please don't take offense to my question because none is intended. Just looking for a good story.
Love the Evans rookie and the Minoso. The Stargell '71 is sweet tough to find them like that. The '63 Mantle looks really nice which is something I am not used to saying about cards in a PRO holder.
That Jim Brown is a nice card, especially for a 4. I normally don't do this, but out of the goodness of my heart, I will trade you straight up for the Jim Brown card. No strings attached. You can thank me later!!
I searched long and hard for a Jim Brown and did not like a lot of 5,6 or 7's base upon major snowstorm in the background, blurry registration and 90-10 centering. I did pay a premium for this one
Finding that Unitas card centered in no easy feat. Congrats.

Amazing, I think I purchased the only 1960 Unitas in the universe with perfect centering.
He looks like he's possessed or something in this pic, lol.
A pretty cool "card than never was" type custom card that I got from a buddy a couple days ago. A well done '90 Donruss Rated Rookie that I'm glad to have in my White Sox collection.
I just got these back in the mail today. I tracked down Kamala (James Harris) on Facebook. This is one wrestler I was more than happy to pay his fee as he is in very poor health and could use the extra money.
Had one of these beauties a few years ago (was graded a 7), inexplicably sold it, and have been looking to replace it ever since. Saw this one pop up on the bay and sure am thrilled to add it to the collection!

pretty cool card!!
not sure if ya knew, but just in case...there actually was a factory-made '90 donruss frank thomas rated rookie card.
only a handful of copies survived the proof stage/chopping block. very '77 jackson-esque type stuff.
it was slated for card number 41 only to be yanked from the set and replaced w andy benes.
and print was stopped almost immediately because the mlbpa logo didnt have the black lined border around it on the back. reverse negs and other type of errors are harmless. messing up and not conforming to a trademark logo, especially one of mlb and the players you are making cards of? a huge no no.
was the last straw and the donruss proofer / qcm was fired just after, yet prior to release. this is what what led to countless errors of every type: wb, reverse negs, spelling, fonts, line thru stars, wrong pics, the entire gauntlet. thus earning it the set w the most number of error cards. some cards having to be recorrected 3 times.

That JJ Watt is very nice. Glad to see a defensive player repped!

Very nice signature on that Aaron for sure. Baseball guys have such nice signatures. Is that a date on the upper right corner or did he make it a 1/1 for you?

It is from 2004 Topps Original Signature, before they started stamping the buyback autos. He made it a true 1/1 for me, although he didn't know it at the time.
Here are a few moderns that I picked up this month. I only have one Eichel RC card left that I'm on the hunt for so it will be back to vintage shortly.

great eye on these basic centered mantles!!!
IT CAN'T BE A TRUE PLAYOFF UNLESS THE BIG TEN CHAMPIONS ARE INCLUDED
Your 5.5 is nice. For $125, I couldn't resist the 4.5. It's a bit cocked to one side, but overall, it's not a bad card.
Yes, I believe it is. As rare as a full size spare tire. Should have in hand tonight
Has some nice gloss, a little snow. Reason for 4 is top left spiders. Barely noticeable in scan. Left to right just crushes it
Just got back from the White Plains show. Strange coincidence, every nice card I found today was a Red Sox card! Including this one:

Really a February pick-up but finally had some time to post. Gradually working on the '55 Bowman HOFs so excited to pick up this Berra.

Such a tough card for print, centering and registration. This one does have a corner with an issue and clearly not perfectly centered. Not bad for a 4

I got these back the other day. Really like the Overall card...
I've owned this card about 25 years. I just got it back from PSA reholdered in March.

I'm pretty confident that is a fake, due to my experience with aqueous test cards. The font is not quite right.
definitely not a fake.
the very first aqueous run that year.

Interesting story, thanks for the reply.
Finally completed my graded 16th series Wacky set!
...and a couple of super nice and fairly low pop '72s....
I've been picking up PSA 7 cards lately that look a lot better than many 8s.
