This would have been a flawless candidate for the new retro old slab.

Congratulations...I thought 65....I feel good about that, not easy nailing it from a picture. Cheers, RickO

Everyone who stated 64 or below or 66 and above:

For what it is worth (i.e., nothing at this point), I had it at 65 as well before seeing the posted grade (I didn't see this thread when it was first posted).

    Really great pickup for $25!

I'll stand firm with my 66 evaluation. If this piece grades lower than a 65 I better read my ANA grading book again. No freaking way this piece is a 64. Of course this is my humble opinion.
I'll for sure post the results.
Thanks to all for your contributions. Much appreciated.

I am so happy I don't have to read my ANA grading book again. Yes it graded 65.
Thanks again to all for the help.
    Happy hunting, Joe

    NICE.!.!

I respect RR's opinion, he sure knows his stuff with regards to grading and most numismatic history as far as I can tell. But in this particular case I will cast my vote with Cameonut as to the grade of 66, not because I can grade these but because he has it in hand and has been right on too man occasions.

Tough one to grade by photo only. All I could say is that it was no higher than MS65 imo.

Another nice score for the OP which just keep on rolling in. Congrats.

Thank you. Any coin is very difficult to grade accurately by images. Images tend to not show luster very well and always exaggerates and blemishes.
It's a fun hobby that I've enjoyed now for decades.
Thanks again for the comments. It makes it more fun.

The bitterness of "Poor Quality" is remembered long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.
