I definitely remember my strong dislike of this coin from when I was more actively collecting toned Franklins. It sold at Heritage in early 2006 for $1,265 and I seem to remember it being on Tomaska's website for a while with an outrageous price-tag; although I could be wrong about that. Any other Franklin guys remember this one?
Walker Proof Digital Album Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......
I don't like the looks of it, speaking to the NT/AT bit of it, from those photos....but I have noticed that the photos at GC seem to have changed a few times, for toned coins.....from pretty dull, initially, to better, to "not so sure I like these photos and I will stay away from sending in toned coins as well as stay away from bidding on them" type of pics.
Not sure if they have just changed style or changed photographers...
Lot's of tells that PCGS Morgan on GC is AT. Elevation chromatics are NOT accurate, look at the raised letters particularly the "U" behind her head. All of the letters have the same color in each band on the device and that shouldn't happen. Yes there is some EC in the lower portion of the hair but is common on gassed coins. No pull away at all another tell and the colors are not flowing in the proper progression....its all wrong.

I noticed that there wasn't any pull away but I thought that wasn't definitive. It is an interesting development for me to see this.
At $341, it may be possible that slabbing genuine coins encourages doctors more than discouraging them.

Aunt Jemima cackled and did a little dance when she pulled that out of the oven.
Are you saying that ngc got that one wrong!
Not 66 even if it was original.
It could be old PCI Holder toning. Has that look.
that many bidders is insane (and by insane, I mean not smart)

"Do you suppose the many bidders on this Franklin actually believe this is NT??"
Doesn't matter,,,,,, it is in a holder
It's sad, and to rub salt in the wound the buyer will get extra Registry points for a *, beating out NT coins. C'est la vie...
U.S. Type Set
I don't like it.
It's natural alright

Ridiculous.
Lance.
Given this has been sold by HA before, how long has this coin had this look?
And there are folks all the way up the ladder ready to make you believe anything.
The more qualities observed in a coin, the more desirable that coin becomes!
My Jefferson Nickel Collection
5 bidders think it's ok. The other 9 not so much.
Even when the coin is label as artificial toning they go for stupid money.

Most people just care that it's colorful
Latin American Collection
So was a certain Peace dollar....
I'm not an expert, but the color flow is unusual, make that unique.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
Interesting. This has elevation chromatics and is a one-sided toner.

So much attention to this coin..... there are many others in slabs... Remember, much like the grade... the slab denotes an opinion.....

What temp and how long? Think it would be best to put it on a pizza rock or in a silicon pan?
Or Shake and Bake!
I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I think I'm kidding.
I think all of them that are bidding now feel it is natural, and why wouldn't they?
