Question concerning the section where the members (avatars) are shown...

joeykoinsjoeykoins Posts: 17,890 ✭✭✭✭✭

Hi guy's, Yeah, just trying to figure out what the numbers mean? On the first page of Threads and posts,(on the Coin Forum) where all the avatars are on the right. What does that number mean on the top right, 166. Then, what does that number mean on thee bottom right, +83 Guests? Does the 166 mean how many are members totally on the Forum? and the number on the bottom, +83 Guests, the amount of members that are presently on line? Or something entirely different? Thanks guy's. -joey :)

Thought it was number logged in to post, and then those not signed in.

So your saying, the section below, +89 Guests, are the ones not signed in? So if you add both numbers up, the top numbers and the bottom numbers, your total number should be the amount of people that joined the Coin Forum, right?

Oh Cool! But what and who can be a guest? So the top # right now reads, 185. The bottom # right now reads, 110. so If you add both numbers, is this the total of people that are on our Forum permanently?

If you are not logged in but still looking at threads you would be in the guest count.

While a little OT, i wonder if the people that don't log out (myself included) are we always shown as being here online, or does our icon disappear when we are viewing another web page? Inquiring minds want to know.

Kind of reminds me of the old "if a tree falls in a forest and nobody hears it does it make a noise?"

Very good analogy. Almost impossible to check yourself. If I try to check if I'm online- I'm online. Make sense?

I think a lot of the user don't log out, and their icon drops off the "online" list after some period of time of inactivity.
The total online count includes the number listed at the bottom as guest.

I never log out either... however, sometimes the system logs me out... not sure why. There used to be a count of total forum members... have not seen that since the software change...the total count was well over 20K the last I recall.... Perhaps the admin could give us that number now. Cheers, RickO
