225 Years of Liberty

Given the two popular threads on coins from 1792 and 2017 and the 225th Liberty Anniversary, it's interesting to compare how Liberty has changed over time.
She and the country she represents have changed a lot in many ways, and less so in others.
What are your thoughts on how Liberty has evolved and how she can further evolve in the future?

What is that coin on the right......
i love it!
It's the 2017 American Liberty 225th Anniversary Gold Coin:
For the 2017 American Liberty, it is about time, and a great design with classic elements. I just wish it were on a circulating coin.
Congress should study what the Founding Fathers wanted on US coins, an impression emblematic of Liberty, not Presidents, and phase out the Presidents in favor of Liberty.
Some Congressmen are trying to get Liberty back on circulating coins, including Andy Barr (R-KY). May be good to write him and other Congressmen to get H.R. 2535 revived.

I prefer the modern depiction over that one from 225 years ago, anyone else?
The two coins cannot be judged from the same perspective... .each has it's own intrinsic beauty.... Coins are historical markers...and as such, reflect societal views to a large extent. The new coin is very attractive.... although, as I stated in other threads, I think the stars are too large. Cheers, RickO
Agree w ricko. Hard to understand why the stars are so large.
Here are the 23 obverse and 12 reverse design candidates.
It would be nice if these were struck into metal patterns to verify the designs and then find their way to the collecting public.
Wow, most of those are AWFUL!!! They definitely picked the best obverse.
The stars do look a bit on the large side when compared to Armed Freedom.

I get it, 1792.
Even so, wow, amazing how Liberty has evolved as depicted on coins.
1792 to 2017.

Thoughtful. Pondering. Deep. Insightful. Go ask your questions to someone else, I wrote nothing of the sort to prompt your message / question, other than your agenda. Answer it yourself.
And the worst reverse. Actually there are several obverse designs that I thought were nice, but not many that I think would translate better to a coin. It seems like many of the coin designs are too busy and once they are struck they look silly. The simple bust seems to work.

Just my opinion of course, but I don't like the design. It looks cartoonish, to the point of Roger Rabbit style. The stars and "LIBERTY" are too big, and I do wish we could go back to "E Pluribus Unum" instead of "In God We Trust".
@epcjimi , I don't think the thread is unrelated to your post given that you mentioned that "Liberty has evolved as depicted on coins from 1792 to 2017" in the 1792 coin thread and there happens to be a 2017 Liberty 225th Anniversary coin also being discussed. Your post mentions a comparison which I thought would be interesting to discuss further, but since you don't see it that way, I've removed references to you in the OP. There is no agenda other than weekend chat. Please enjoy the rest of your weekend.
Regarding the reverse, it's interesting to note that none of the eagles carry arrows which has been on US coins from the early days and is being discussed in this thread.
