I could live with image coming soon if it happens. If I keep checking and images never appear, I put them in the same category as POR dealers.

If all sites had archives like HA, that would be awesome. Unfortunately, many sites only keep a few coins in the archives.

Well, THAT is an entirely different thing.
THAT is reference from actual trades.

MOST archives just show eye candy with no prices, dates, .....nuthin.
Oh I guess they might make someone think they will get the same stuff now, but ...oh...who knows?
It either serves the site or it doesn't.

But POR and Image coming soon....... well...... grr

Realistic pricing puts me in a buying mood.

POR is a no joy for me.

A nice coin at a fair price gets my fingers itching.

"POR," "image coming soon" and "on hold" are all turn-offs. "POR" often means the price is either higher than quinine or it's going to vary depending upon who is asking. "Picture coming soon" means the listing is worthless until the picture is posted. "On hold" means it's sold 99% of the time, and if it's something I've been after for a long time, it means I missed out again.

Some dealers leave the sold images and listings up forever, which is a real turn-off. My advice to them is to have an archives section is you really want to crow about when you have had in inventory.

In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

More info like HA is better, but even complete eye candy (no prices, dates, etc.) would be nice. Many sites only selectively add coins to their archives.

If there is no image, I just keep going...... may or may not return....probably not, at least not in the short term. Cheers, RickO

FWIW, I personally hate this. I appreciate and respect FULL TRANSPARENCY, which means show the price it sold for. This helps the entire market.

That is EXACTLY what I was thinking. Why hide a price unless the dealer gave a yuge discount?
