No cameo
No.
Even when a piece shows a cameo, it seems like it's very hard to get the cameo designation on the 1936 - 42 Proof coins.
Here is a PCGS designated cameo I own for reference. Mark
Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......
what do you think of picture quality
Not a cameo... very nice picture and certainly a nice coin....Cheers, RickO
I have tried many expensive cameras light boxes, photo editing,on & on for macro photography. Not to mention down loading SD memory cards and seeing photos out of focus and you have to start over can be annoying. Well, I bought this camera/microscope over a year ago and believe it or not it cures all the mentioned problems, I paid $12.00 for it. The merc picture was taken with this camera, If anyone has one like this and needs pointers let me know. Highly recommended
Lucky you, newcollect!
I paid over $400 for that style of camera and have nothing but software issues with it. Now I have an old German camera of that style that only works with an old laptop that I keep away from Internet software upgrades.
My preference is to buy cameras that don't get part of their picture taking function from a fickle computer.
I really like that example!

No. Here are a couple other exemplars of cameo designated Mercury Dimes for your reference.

Can you share a brand name or a website that sells that camera/microscope?
Recipient of the coveted "You Suck" award, April 2009 for cherrypicking a 1833 CBHD LM-5, and April 2022 for a 1835 LM-12, and again in Aug 2012 for picking off a 1952 FS-902.
Beautiful Mercury Proof Mark!
And no on the OP coin being cam.
Type this in at ebay;
Portable USB Digital 50-500X 5MP Microscope Endoscope Magnifier Camera 8 LED
it comes with the small cd disc install and your ready to go, the stand is not tall so just mount it on a box or something about a foot tall, i used duct tape. Forgot to mention the photos were not cropped or edited in any way. When you get it let me know i can give you some pointers with adjustments and the best lighting you dont need anything else just the camera not bad for twelve bucks !
The coins are a lot of fun to collect. If you ever decide to pursue one, be very careful. The quality of the contrasts are all over the place (and so are prices as a result). There are a number of examples, particularly in NGC plastic, that I believe were "grade inflated" into cameo holders and are either not true cameos or have very weak contrasts. If you are looking, the 1939 is the "common date" (and I say that tongue in cheek) in cameo.
Nice Mercs, all. Despite no CAM (not even close), the one in the OP is a chrome-shiny beauty, for sure.
Thank you for the advice!
