Looks nice. Perhaps some kind of clear sealant over the cents would keep the design as is. They will turn brown, green and black over time if exposed.. :)

I hope there isn't a 1909-S-VDB or a 1914-D buried among them. You would to have a guest digging into your bathroom floor. :p

    Neat idea. B)

I like it. Sealing it is probably a good idea.

Are they zinc or copper pennies?

The zinc ones will corrode over time.

Interesting.... and if he uses the proper epoxy, self leveling, and extremely wear resistant (we used it in electrochemical facilities) he will have no problems. Cheers, RickO

That so reminds me of my Aunt Margie and Uncle Minnow's house in Bel Air, CA when we were growing up in the 60's......now they didn't have anything like that but the neighbor did around his pool, and every time we visited we were invited to swim......and around there deck of there swimming pool they had Bust Halfs in the cement, thousands of them, anyhow, all I can remember is my Dad smacking us upside the head when me or my 3 older brothers were caught trying to pry them out :D

    Looks

The bitterness of "Poor Quality" is remembered long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.
  • yes, the only way I see this working is covering with some sort of self-leveling clear acrylic/epoxy.
Not sure it was well thought out though...once the toilet is installed, the nice hexagon will be partially obscured.
Also, there isn't any threshold or transition to the delightful shag carpet....on which rests a forgotten roll of coins.
That is one super deep tub by the way.

There are sometimes great toilet seats on e-Bay to go with that floor.
