...Grateful to have this forum that attracts so many thoughtful life-long numismatists and avid collectors who freely share their wealth of knowledge and treasury of collectibles. Maybe I’ve been away too long, or maybe I don’t get around enough, but this place astonishes me sometimes. The community of the whole forum, and the every-day specialists who make it great for newcomers - like I once was - and small-scale collectors - like I am today - to read and sometimes post. Like the recent threads by @RogerB on patterns, @BillJones on 53 years ago today, @jonathanb 's thread on the SCD die plus matching medal, and @Keets "If you could" about the 1876 Centennial Medals, which led to @BillJones' post on pressed wood medals. I love the history, the art, the value in a small thing well preserved, the advice and anecdotes from long-time collectors, the humor, the insight, and I guess especially the photos! Just seen so many amazing pieces, sets and collections on this place, brought more to life by the stories that go with them. …just a few of the things I appreciate it about the forums here. A big thank you to everyone who contributes and keeps it humming round here.

So, 1) Why do you keep coming back? What’s so darn good about this place? Tell us again, even if you posted it last Thanksgiving!

And, 2) post if you can a recent acquisition or project you’re working on. US classic or modern, Darkside, Exonumia, accessories, let's see it! If you can't post pics yet, try the Posting Pictures thread on the Q&A forum. It might be as easy as drag and drop!

An old foto of a group of Barbers in my Barber Halves CircCam Year Set. The coin I'm thankful for is posted in Topographic Ocean's Happy Thanksgiving thread...

Thankful for love and a passion for a great hobby(despite business). They (love &passion) seem to elude so many.

I am most thankful for family and a few marvelous friends....This forum is certainly a bright spot and very enjoyable. I have been a member since before the last two iterations... the big one wiped out all posts and join dates. However, since I have been here for 16 plus years, I am certainly thankful for how much I have learned, the acquaintances made and coins I have acquired through this site.... Cheers, RickO
