Personally I do not like the toning. But, it is what it is. To me, the reverse toning looks to have been accelerated.

I take it that the four close-up pictures are of the same coin, but it doesn't look that way. The second pair doesn't even look like the same coin. The pictures have obviously been juiced if it is the same coin.
As for the look, I find the obverse in the first close-up in and the full slab pictures attractive. The reverse looks artificial to me for reasons I can't fully define. I just don't care for the look.
I must confess that most all of my interest in "monster toners" is gone because the high prices. I recently bought a 1797 half dime that has original toning, not "monster toning" which I admire very much. I paid the usual price for that piece, and that's what I'm willing to do. I won't pay the super premiums.
Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
It may be slabbed, but with the right equipment, that is quickly achievable....equipment and a couple of chemical crystals... Although this may be 'photographic' tarnish more than actual tarnish... Cheers, RickO
I will never believe that is not doctored. Wonder why there aren’t any dimes that look like that? Is it there isn’t a big enough collector base that buys them? I have gone though bags and bags of Ike’s, fancy aftermarket paper based holders of them by the hundreds and all types of mint sets and I have never seen anything close to like that naturally.

For $1,000 I hate it.
I think it is natural paper toning from album storage and perhaps paper inside album leaf.
The coin is a great year and grade but the retail price is utterly delusional.
radioactive
Looks market acceptable for sure but there are some real neon blue stunners out there in the price range they're asking
Very unusual for that date. Neat toners are hard to find on clads.
Ike Specialist
Finest Toned Ike I've Ever Seen, been looking since 1986
My opinion is that the image has been helped to bring out the color more on a monitor.
In honor of the memory of Cpl. Michael E. Thompson
I don't care for it. Looks wrong to me in every way. JMO
You would have to take off 3 zeros for me to even consider it.
I don't like the tone and I abhor the price.

I would only want it at face!
I'd pay a quarter of that, maybe. And that's only if it's truly gem and not a 64 market graded to a 65.
It does look like envelope toning, but while I like it, I wouldn't be a player.

Kind of like it but wouldn't buy it.
Which one is it? There appears to be two different ones, one "bulls-eye" and one "martian". Either way, I like to tones but not the asking price!

If I got it and it looked like the bottom picture on both sides, I would be upset.
It's meh.

Fools are their money. Are parted very quickly sometimes.
On the bright side - one day THAT Coin might buy you a cup of coffee - when you really really want a good cup.
It's okay...but not for that price.
Gorgeous, I own it currently, one of the most attractive 71p out there.

11.5$ Southern Dollars, The little “Big Easy” set
I’d never buy it but I like it
