BJ and the Registry team have launched a new set which I have been working with them on for the last few months.
The World Coins in Early America type set is meant to be a representative set of world issues which circulated in Early America. While no where near exhaustive, this set is meant to give form and structure to a deeply interesting period of our nations history which saw the early nation developing its monetary system while leveraging circulating currency from across the world.
Over the next several days I will seek to provide details with the help of John Agre of CoinRaritiesOnline to dive more deeply into each issue or series within the set.
A Big thank you to the Set Registry team!

Looks like a good list to me.
@Boosibri thanks for making that happen. I'm not a registry player but I very much collect off of the registry set compositions in some sets. I've been US type collecting and have a couple of these "World Coins circulating in early America" issues already. Looking forward to learning more about them.
Congrats Boosi. I know that you worked hard for this. Hopefully it opens up new collectors to this area.
US Civil War coinage

Will be a very intersting post, I'm sure. Thanks for the hard work

"Coin collecting for outcasts..."
I find it amazing how many different foreign coins circulated.... the merchants - and lay people - needed to have substantial knowledge of coinage in order to use so many different countries coins. Cheers, RickO
Well done Brian. Well done indeed

Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......
Is this a final list or will it be expanded as research allows?
I think merchants and other trades people usually weighed
the coins for transactions. Maybe someone here can give info
on their use.
Cool idea!
