Toned shield nickel for typeset

Here is another impulse buy from a Baltimore show several years ago. Never had a good image for it. I recently sold off my raw one in the expectation of starting one in the registry set. Thanks too crazyhounddog I now have a great image to use for it.

It has nice even color on both sides. Unfortunately, the spotting is in a high visibility area. It is a coin I would have passed on back in the days when I collected mint state shield nickels.

Need to get me one of those for my type set but too many coins and not enough $$$

Is that an abrasion in the upper center of the shield? Or a die fault? Cheers, RickO

It is a die crack

I meant in the middle of the horizonal lines... it could also be a scuff on the slab.... Cheers, RickO
