The only problem I’ve found over the years with the 38-D is that each one is nicer than the next. I’ve generally avoided the temptation to scope up each eye appealing piece I see – otherwise I would have something approaching a hoard. Last week I broke with that mantra and took a small gamble on a hazy, but promising, Ebay image and listing. It vastly exceeded my expectations. I don’t think this piece has the blast to pull an uber grade, but the eye appeal is undeniable. I have D/D, D/S and a none variety example of this date that I am all happy with, so I was never sure how it would fit in. But fit in it shall, I think. Images courtesy of crazyhounddog.

Love it! Sweet rip.
Real nice coin. Makes me want to collect them again.
Raw? What a great coin. I'd guess 66. And it appears to be a D/D.
Very nice look on that one!

That's a beautiful buffalo. Well done.
I agree with Shamika, it's a D/D.
