My Walker cross populated yesterday

JustacommemanJustacommeman Posts: 22,852 ✭✭✭✭✭
This was my 8/15 regular submission. I'm putting together a long-short set of toned Walkers in 65 or better. Most of my coins are already PCGS but these were the NGC coins I finally decided to cross. While putting together this set (still a work in progress) I've tried to go for aesthetically pleasing examples that were also technically sound for the grade. It's made it for very tough sledding. Honestly, I thought I could go 6/14 on this submission as PCGS is tougher on 66 and 67's Ive found over the past ten years. I had two 67's and two 66's that didn't cross. I still love them. I actually think I did better here then on my 13 for 16 commem crossover

Thank you for looking.

mark

1935-S was NGC 65* now PSGS 65. A good cross on a tough date.

image

1941-D was NGC 67* now PCGS 67. A good cross.

image

1942 was NGC 67 now PCGS 67

image

1944-D was NGC 65 * now PCGS 65

image

1946-S was NGC 66* now PCGS 66

image

1947-D was NGC 67* now PCGS 67. This was a great cross

image

1947 was NGC 66* now PCGS 66+

image

1941-S was NGC 65+* now PCGS 65. I'll resubmit this. It's a dupe ( have a higher graded example) but I think it's better then a 65

image

1939 was NGC 65* now PCGS 65. A lower graded dupe as I have a 67 for the set

image

1934 was NGC 66* now a PCGS 66. This is a dupe as I have a 67 for the set

Fabulous coins and fabulous results. At this grade level crosses are not the norm. If you don't mind me asking did these go through your own PCGS account or a major dealer's?

I love the 1947. Something about that tremendous head detail, excellent hand and skirt lines, and superb color.

You did well, those are nice examples. I presume the * on the NGC slabs was for

    the look?

The 35-S and 47-D are such tough dates to find nice and you found great examples of both. People don't realize how hard it is to find nice toned examples of some of these dates - I hope you make the business strikes into an album like your proofs. Great stuff.

Nice job crossing, but my thought is that these beautiful coins aren't properly described without the star designation.

Amazing and well done! Certainly some other coins posted here have more color and better strikes, but
that 35S is far and away my favorite, just because of what it is.
Should also mention that frost on the 34P looks to be nearly an inch thick!

Jesus Christ! those are some nice WLHs.

The 35-S is wonderful. You often don't see color on 46-S.

What a wonderful effort and such eye candy.

    Hearty congratulations!

Nice coins all, especially the 1941-D.

Love the pastel hues on the 46-S.

As a previous poster mentioned, not an easy date to find with color--unless you count "charcoal speckling" as toned.

    Fantastic Walkers.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. You have one of the best eyes at collecting some of the most beautiful eye appealing coins. I find each and everyone of these walkers just a beautiful as the next. Congratulations on such a nice set of walkers.image

FWIW, I really like Seattle's original Walkers and the vintage slabs are way cool, too. image
