FedEx Oh Boy... Well it turned out good!

So I had a fellow collector opt to use FedEx to send me a box of 20 for photography. I'm watching the email update notifications and then get one that it was delivered. To whom I don't know as it sure wasn't me? All I have is a first name initial and last name. I call FedEx to do a trace and after 2 1/2 hours awaiting a return call took matters into my own hands. Doing a google, yahoo, & facebook search discovered the pastor and his wife at a church a mile away share the same first name initial and last name. I hop in the car walk into the church & I am guided to the office. Not even at the door I already see my name on the address label on a parcel atop a large pile. Just really glad that of all the places it could have been wrongly delivered it was a church!

I guess as long as some of the information matches it counts as delivered.
Hey it could have been a pawn shop!

It's still shown as delivered, but in the age of GPS there's no excuse for this.
Then again they use a lot of subcontractors these days.

Boy, I'll say.....I would hate to have to deal with FedEx on a large coin insurance claim......

Try dealing with them on a "Driver backed into your house and caused 20K worth of damage claim."
I found out afterward so no attention was called to contents the package was not insured. Also in a hurry to ship he didn't write down any of the cert numbers on the slabs. At a quick glance all are valued between $300-1500, so had it been lost it would have been like trying to track down 20 turnips that fell off a truck.

Could someone be trying to get you back to church.

Happy for a good outcome though.

Now, I'm not so sure that the USPS, (even with all of their problems), isn't the best way to go....
to know the name on the label and associate it with the right home/business. The other yahoos just drive
around and throw packages.
USPS all the way for me and coins are insurable to boot.

I gave up on FEDEX and UPS years ago. Seems to me that a normal route driver (USPS) would be more likely
to know the name on the label and associate it with the right home/business. The other yahoos just drive
around and throw packages.

I tried to come up with a good explanation as to what might have happened. But I can't. All I can figure is laziness and gross disregard.
