You have the coin. Hold it under florescent light and look to see if the mark is into the coin or on the surface. My guess is some debris got on the coin and was missed during QC.
Thanks everyone. The edges seemed so crisp and abrupt that it just didn't seem to be a contact mark from another coin. And the fact that NGC graded it 69 led me to believe they'd seen it too and thought the same.
So on a piece that's already an error (mule), do you think it has the potential to increase $$ & demand, decrease it, or neutral?
Edit to add I may just eBay it to see what the market thinks.
