Small show purchases

I like small shows in my region, mostly to shoot the bull, talk about the coin and bullion market, and really take the time to go through dealer inventory, do some cherrypicking, look for Colorado-related odds and ends (tokens, ephemera).
Seated Liberty coinage availability is limited in dealer cases and at B&M's around here. Lots of high mintage type coins, with a smattering of low-grade later date CC's (dimes especially) and generally fine and below, mostly Philly issues. Locating a better or key date O or S-mint issue of any denomination is nearly impossible.
Finding a better date 1872 was a not only of note, but in raw XF? Plus I really dug the toning.
Picked it up a few months ago from a dealer who specializes in bullion and moderns for a little less than Greysheet.

GSAs, OBW rolls, Seated, Walkers. Anything old and Colorado-focused, CO nationals.
Gonna get me a $50 Octagonal someday. Some. Day.

Those guys that specialize in Bullion and modern are sometimes the best sources of the good stuff. They are my favorite places to shop. Nice pick up.
He's a nice guy, and I've done some bullion business with him, so I'm sure he appreciated the cash to use for other stuff as much as I liked the coin.
This was one of those raw "wow" coins that shouts out to you from the case, screaming to be viewed up close!

Please don't tell me it was already in PCGS plastic with a TrueView, or I'm going to tell you how much you suck.
(Something of a traditional compliment on these forums. A "you suck!" is considered rather prestigious.)

One of these days I hope to earn the coveted "you suck" award!
Not yet, Grasshopper, but maybe you get a lesser "you semi-suck" rating here.

Gorgeous. I prefer smaller shows. I always find what I'm looking more often in the smaller shows than the larger ones.
