Getting from LAX to the ANA

BoosibriBoosibri Posts: 11,877 ✭✭✭✭✭
Any more experienced folks have advice on the best way of getter by from the airport to Anaheim? I arrive at 2:45pm to LAX on Monday for the ANA.

Seems like between taxis, shared vans etc there is no "best" option. Thoughts?

You could take a shuttle to Disneyland and then a cab to the Anaheim Convention Center - which is 1.7 miles away.

Personally I always get a rental car so I can go other places when I visit a city.

The bus from LAX is a reasonable option because of traffic as well. I believe the DLand hotel is on West and the Convention Center is on Katella which is very close. Getting a cab in OC is not easy but they can be found easier around the DLand Hotel. Enjoy the show

If you don't mind sharing a ride, the super shuttle has always been what I've used to get from the airport to the FUN Show hotels and after checking rates, $17 each way from LAX to the convention center must be cheaper than taking a cab in my opinion.

I agree with Ablinky... Super Shuttle always worked well for me when traveling.... clean, courteous and reasonable rates... Cheers, RickO

Yes, the Super Shuttle is clean and cheap, but it is very definitely a SHARED ride. I once took the Super Shuttle from LAX to the Long Beach Show. My stop at the Long Beach Convention Center was the closest stop to LAX of all of the passengers on board, yet the driver dropped everyone else off first. My trip, LAX to Long Beach? It took 3 hours, even though the Saturday traffic was light! (Enroute we had stop-offs in the foothill suburbs of San Pedro, and all over creation and back, before was dropped off!)

Uber may be your best bet, but when I left CA. the taxi companies were fighting against allowing UBER airport pickup. You may need to get offsite first. Also, LA now has several rail options which may get you from LA to Anaheim or close without the traffic. But once again, the Rail doesn't go all the way to LAX because the taxi companies fought it when building. So Google Metro Rail and see if it will get you there.

Nevermind about the rail, looks like you would be on a bus for half the trip.

Gotta love socialism, must keep those taxi's working....... You have convinced me to make sure that I don't use a taxi to get to ANA simply out of protest, even it if takes me 2 hours longer, no way. Rail should have gone into LAX as Bart does into SFO and every other city expansion of light rail.....

    Best, SH

Uber or direct Shuttle to DLand. Uber does operate out of LAX (contrary to the mis-info above).

And, lose the phoney "socialism" comment. Taxis are not government run, nor subsidized with tax dollars. Old business models always fight the new that threaten their turf. That is capitalism.

But it is socialism when the gubermint gives in and does not make progress because of protests from buisness.... Ever been to France? The whole country is hamstrung because every time they try to make progress, the losing buisness protests and nothing happens - the buisness always plays the job card and voila, they win, that is what the taxi companies obviously did. That is socialism..... That is what is going on here.

Haha. Capitalism isn't socialism because you happen to think it such. Socialism in this context would be where the Taxi industry is owned by the government (ostensibly for the benefit of the community) and there could be no competition from Uber, Lyft, et al.

According to your theory, the coal and oil industry are socialism personified because they use their money and influence to prevent and delay tougher pollution standards that would favor solar and other emerging technologies.

Call it cronyism or corruption or just wrong, but don't use an inappropriate label just because it seems derogatory.

BTW, the Metro in LA (which will be expanded to reach LAX) is socialism.

Yes, and I have been to France a number of times.

I'm sorry but the taxi"lobby" was fighting to stop uber from picking up passengers when I left, so my apologies if that is no longer the case. But the rail does stop about a mile or two from LAX and that was because the same taxi companies " donated" their way into that decision.

They successfully although temporarily got uber out of Vegas by paying politicians.

    Socialism? Maybe. More likely corruption.
