My previous longest record was an order logged on 3/4/16 posted on 6/7/16 ... thought that was never going to be repeated, but only a month later I'm on 5/5 that is still not posted on 7/14. Nearly 2.5 months is rough for a regular order...
I just had 7 total days from posted to shipped on an express order (including the weekend and Trueview). So they were pretty much right on schedule. Hopefully that means they are getting back on track for other submission levels. I have five other orders in right now with different service levels so we'll see.
I'm sending in four Ecomomy submissions. I'd like them back before Labor Day... Doesn't really matter - they're just going to languish in a safe. They're not for resale so makes no difference to me. $20 per coin is expensive enough. Spending $32 for a Regular submission is all well and good but not necessary for my needs.
If the value of a coin is over $300, then I'd be forced to use a Regular submission. Common date AU Barber Dimes go Edonomy.....
Mike Hayes ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Coin collecting is not a hobby, it's an obsession !
My previous (and still current) record was for a modern submission logged in on 11/28/2011 and finally shipped out on 7/12/2012 -- just two weeks short of 8 months in-house!
That being said, PCGS did contact me and let me know the problem fairly early on. It turned out that these were the first of their kind graded by PCGS and none of their stock grommets would fit those oversized pieces. The grading room really wanted to have the pieces in PCGS holders, but were at the mercy of their suppliers. When the needed materials came in, I got them back pronto, and they looked great in their holders!
Not even so much as shrugged shoulders from the people in the corner offices.

Imagine if you submitted to PCGS for the first time when turnaround times are skyrocketing and you don't hear a peep for months.

It's pretty obvious they don't care or feel the need to communicate with their customers.
They could do something as simple as sending out a blanket email to all Collectors Club members explaining what is going on. I have an order that GC sent in for me on the 5th of July through Economy Service. I probably wont hear back on those until December.
called again on friday, this time the associate who spoke with me (herself) seemed a bit perturbed. says, "i don't understand why this order is not finished, it has been in finalizing for weeks now." I know cause 3rd week of june they said it was in finalization. she did say there is absolutely no problem with order, but it's just not moving for weeks.
5/5 submission for regular order was logged, 3 coin submission (cross from NGC).
Oh well, maybe next week...although I've been saying this for quite a while now...
I submitted on May 16 (first and last time I submit economy). I realize that as an economy submission it will get pushed to the back of the line. I submitted 15 common morgans, no special attributes/VAM's. Where I get a feeling of frustration is seeing the past 2 weeks other orders (specifically Morgans) submitted after mine already processed. Hopefully those were economy submissions because if it is a 7 week wait on regular submissions we are all in trouble. I did have an express order I submitted in June and it was a 5 day turn around. Based on seeing that in orders and watching the youtube/host video on the submission process, seeing on the returned paperwork they are being graded within a day or two of arrival the assumption I get is the bottle neck slowing up the process is in slabbing/packaging.
That's true but different pricing tiers are offered to accelerate the process for those who lack patience, and then there are also expectations as a consumer. If a piece of paper says appx 15 business day turnaround (3 weeks) and you are looking at orders between 5-9 weeks, that has nothing to do with patience. One paid for a service so one has to have an expectation of a timely outcome. Just saying that this is commerce where monetary transactions are involved and service levels purchased based time to complete.
I actually suggested in the PCGS survey that they offer an SLA-based membership tier that guarantees results in a certain time frame. I would be the first buyer, for sure!
I have to agree with mercurydimeguy. When regular orders were sent in, the site said 15 days. That is what we bought. Not 29 days. When the regular order were sent in, economy was 25 days, thus the reason many chose regular service. You can't sell a product and then change it after it was bought.

•Turnaround times are estimated in business days and are not guaranteed. The turnaround does not begin until the business day following the submission being entered into the grading system.
When I called the customer service office about these turnaround times, I was given the usual "scripted" answer that there are a lot of coin shows during the summer and that the staff was attending these shows and performing duties in CA...and things get backed up. Sounds like they need a summer-time internship program to help alleviate the lack of experienced personnel at the home office.
...or adjust the turnaround times.
I sympathize with those who were caught in the turnaround extension and agree that their orders should have fallen under the estimated time frame when their order was accepted.
+/- 10% is the usual tolerance for acceptance?

There really is no excuse for the voices of PCGS not to have commented by now in this thread. It shows a certain lack of respect for the exact people who keep this publicly traded company profitable.
Frankly I think the lack of planning is inexcusable. Combine that with a (not really) gradual doubling of the length of time actually taken and everybody has a right to be unhappy.
I'd like to at least hear what the plan is to prevent this from happening again next summer. What I'll probably hear is how I'm getting the banhammer for not letting go of the issue.
If you do what you always did, you get what you always got.

All sounds right to me and throw in some family vacations as well.
But, I learned something long, long ago and let me share it here publicly with everyone...
NEVER RUSH THE GRADING OF YOUR COINS THROUGH DEMANDS THAT THEY GET DONE FASTER, ETC. IT RARELY, IF EVER, WORKS OUT IN YOUR FAVOR.
Personally, when my ungraded submissions approach or exceed around 10,000 coins in the system (and it does not happen very often), I might do a gentle reminder that the pile of coins is growing. Besides that, I simply save up to pay what will be a very large bill one day in the future!
As always, just my two cents...

My 2 coin free registry submission processed in on 6/17 just had grades post today. That's a 21 day turnaround in my book. I'd presume that would be run as a Regular submission which is indicated as 23 business days on the website.

How many times did you check today Dimeman, and be honest.

I'm going to stop checking and just wait for the email....this is just too maddening!!

What happened to waiting for the email? I know, the day you stop looking for an advancement in your submission is the day it flies through.

The grades weren't bad at all either.
Holy cow, 10000 coins waiting to be graded that you sent in? You must be the king at PCGS.
Here's the highlight of that submission, a raw buy which is now in an MS63 holder.
