Finally!

Hi guy's, I attended the Coin Show In Tinley Park IL. Friday. Well, after several hunting outings in at least 10 Shows. I finally cherrypicked a couple of the all time favorites. First I found the "Close A.M. 1999 Proof Cent" and, (drum roll) The " Superbird" Proof Quarter! Get this, both by the same dealer too. Two coins that can easily go for at least $500 for a total of $18. The Show was quite exciting and a lot of talk of the coin thieves that were apprehended at the Long Beach Show. Another great deal I let slip by was a table offering Silver rounds at only $0.90 over spot. Only low spot for me was not able to flip my 1953 NGC Proof 68 Cameo Quarter. Needless to say, I'd say I had a pretty good Friday. May return Saturday? image

Thanks guy's! One of my most exciting moments in my 20 years collecting. Varieties/errors are the best.image
One more thing... Next to my daughter being born 27 years ago, this is one of my best Father's Day present.

I'm going to return Saturday as I could only spend an hour at the show yesterday before the Cubs game. I have all day in Chicago before my flight back tonight.

My favorite from yesterday as a 1774-PTS 8R in a P64 OGH which for the price asked the dealer will have to pass down to his children and depending on their motivation, perhaps to their children as well. Regardless, the coin was very nice.

Look for the sunburnt guy in a Cubs shirt and say hi if you come. Will be there probably 9-12.

Love that WIDE/CLOSE AM variety searching. Nice score. I think it was stinkinlincoln ( a former board member ? ) who sold me a '99 WIDE AM raw that he'd found. He scored. I sent it in to PCGS and it graded MS 66, as I recall. Then I scored. And whoever got it scored. image I like that kind of saga with coins. And coins , in general. Blessings are abundant in our hobby.

That's awesome. The 1998-S Close AM is supposed to be many times rarer, but I've found 5 of them and only a single '99-S. You made a tough find there for sure, and congrats on the Superbird as well!

Thanks again guys! I went back today but just stayed for about an hour. I did pick up a couple of Silver Rounds for $18.50 apiece.
One More Thing... Today, I was at Barnes and Noble, checking out some coin books on some prices of my catches and just learned today about the "Close A.M.'s" on the Proof 1998 Cents. Man-n, I wish I knew when I was at the Show. Oh well, you learn something new everyday, huh?image Up to 6 times more rarer I see!
