Selling Advice

I have a complete ASE set minus the 1995W and 2008 reverse 2007. I am the original owner with all eagles ungraded except a handful of PCGS examples. I have stored the raw coins in lighthouse coin trays. All are in excellent condition with OGP for the proofs and MS Burnished and special anniversary sets. I would like to sell the set. My question is it better to slab and sell on Heritage or Great Collections or to sell them raw on the BST or to an interested dealer.

Thank you for the advice,
Bob

Unless you think you are VERY likely to get 70s by slabbing them, imho you would be better selling raw.

You may get a better price on the BST than a dealer, but you don't know unless you try.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

I would agree with Bochiman.... 70's would be worth slabbing... If you do not think you have any, than the BST first.... Cheers, RickO

I agree with Bochiman. The grading costs will eat up a substantial amount of value.

If you have the 2006 or 2011 reverse proof ASE's, those may be worth your expense to have them graded.

Why not use them as a beginning inventory for your ebay store. That way you could take your time and master the process of being a seller. Start off slow selling them off - auction, if BIN not working as quickly as you want. I would not start any auctions at any less than BV.

An ebay store allowing you to list 200 items free is $19.95 a month for your store subscription. You could slab a couple to see if its worth it. If they do not make 70 possibly worth it , otherwise probably not. Even they do make 70, good luck getting all the money. I believe I would blow them out raw before racking up paying a fortune in slab costs / membership fees and auction fees to auction houses.

    If the slab expenses on a coin > 10% of your estimated MV after slabbing probably not worth it. I easily win slabbed ASE for < $15 over melt. i have won 70 mexico slabbed onzas for as little as $20 over melt. become familiar what your coins are trading for on the bay. _24_15="" over="" melt.="" i="" have="" won="" 70="" mexico="" slabbed="" for="" as="" little="" _24_20="" become="" familiar="" what="" your="" coins="" are="" trading="" the="" />

I have no advice. I just put $10 in a CoinStar machine and got back $8.90.
