Prepare yourself for something amazing....

At least I think it's an amazing 34-d Buff I just purchased. This is a raw coin I put in a hard case for safe keeping until it gets graded. I am EXTREMELY happy with this beauty. The luster is BOOMING on this very near flawless Buff. The colors are also just fabulous.
Thanks for looking and happy hunting, Joe

Arrrghhhh!!! My eyes are burning! It's another Buffalo nickel thread! image

Love the color on this one. I have not seen too many nickels of any sort that developed such stunning coloration. It's a better date in Unc., too!

The obverse looks AT, but the reverse looks NT. So which is it?

I see nothing about the color that would lead me to believe it's not natural.

Joe...What a beautiful buffalo. I agree with others, this is the most tasteful, colorful Buff I have seen. You are one lucky individual to have found that coin. Thanks for sharing.

When it gets graded with a number and not details, let us all know the price. I expect it to be a case of say $75 white, $750 with that color.

Your photos are sooooo lifelike (mine, using an iPhone4S back in the day, are certainly not)- here is a Jefferson that looks like it is in the same family as your Buffalo.

The obverse of this coin looks almost identical to the one Kryptonitecomics recently sold for close to $4K. Beautiful coin and great strike on a very tough date.

Looks beautiful but I'm not sure it could find its way into a holder.

That would look excellent in a type set album.

First try to get it into a holder.

    Wonderful! Crazy nice.

I probably would have waited until it was in a problem-free holder before posting, to cut down on the AT/NT posts. Be sure to follow up with a pic of the holder!

That's the problem with coin docs - not only do they mess up the coins that they do, they also cast doubt upon all the ones that they didn't do....

I collected Buffalo Nickels pretty seriously when I was young, and I honestly never saw any with more than a blush of pale golden or light silvery blue toning.

purple is a bad color and yours has too much of it for my liking. that gold-green is quite nice, though.

You need to be betting MA or not. AT vs NT is pure folly.

I see purple quite frequently. Not uncommon for nickel at all.

If our hosts here, or even our friends ATS, find your coin market acceptable then you have hit a grand slam. But I'm a bit skeptical of the color. Hope you score big.

Joe, I also see lots of coins with purple, all I'm giving is my opinion.

you have the advantage in assessing the coin since you can see it in-hand while the rest of us are forced to judge a picture based on our previous experience. most often what I see with purple is a bigger blend of blue and/or red and pink. it seems odd to have green/gold at the rim and then again at the center, interrupted by the purple. in short, the color progression doesn't seem right. if you look at the coin Braddick posted there is blue or blue/green around the purple and way more gold.

with the old software or if I was at home I would like to see sunnywood's color progression chart, it might help interpret things.

BTW, don't get upset or defensive if we don't agree.

Agree. But still a masterpiece in art.

How about ANT! Or almost NT? The reverse is fine. It looks like the obverse was gold toned and "helped along" by adding vibrant colors layered over the gold. The color flow simply does not look right.
