her dirty twin sister?

the coin on the left, i have posted to this forum before. i have had it in my collection for a year or so.



i think i just reunited her with her (very dirty) twin sister, a recent purchase.



what do you think? vote now!



i apologize for the poor photo skills. however, to give you an idea, here's the coin on the left photographed by todd at blucc:

this new lady has a similar patina, but much filthier! i'll update this thread later when i have a proper photograph to share.

    Pretty cool. I'd guess that there will be some negative responses due to the last picture but I'd guess the coin is quite nice in hand (considering you outbid me by $10). It's not the MPD with the 1 in the neck and you will likely never now if it is the doubled 7 as there is just too much dirt covering up the potential second digit. I think that you will do well with it though if I were to guess I would say that it is unlikely that there was a submission of 29 1847's. This could be from the Jackson Hoard given all of that dirt bough it doesn't have the "struck by a backhoe" look to it.



    Edited to add: Fun Fact - All of the US Pringles are made at a mega plant in Jackson TN.

    not a blemish, Mark, ding or hairline ... But did not pass at
