Quick afternoon at local three day show, one nice 1819 quarter found

We have probably the saddest three day coin show in the world here in Milwaukee. Every year the show gets smaller and is now in fact smaller than most of our little one day shows. Maybe 25 dealers today and I saw probably 10 collectors during my 2 hours there. Coin shows as a general fact have really shrunk around here the past five years.

I was not going to go to this show, but got a call from a dealer that he had a collection of early dollars coming in for me to look at. Got a good excuse to give the wife and made the 45 minute drive. The early dollars never showed up as expected, so here I was with a wad of cash and no cool coins to buy. Just as I was about to leave the show (more like small gathering) I found these two. The 1819 I immediately remembered from my days collecting bust quarters and the 1/2 real was just cool and for the few dollars it cost could not leave. On the up side I have a lot of cash waiting for Central states

not a huge Cherry pick but still usually brings a premium B4 R4. Also about the most perfect VG10 coin you will see

1851 GC 1/2 real I know nothing about these, except the coin is fully proof like in hand and has great eye appeal, my pictures are really bad on this one, all the marks are on the old holder. one of those coins that just said take me home

Honestly, you can't go wrong with the bust quarter. Good pick up.

Did the dealer who gave you a heads up by telephone about the early dollars just not show up, or did they suddenly have a special story for a no show of the coins ?

Love the coins. I went to a show last year in New Berlin and got the same feeling as you.
